GStreamer pipeline for converting videos

Hi, I'm using Linux and have seen some hints here and there on how to convert videos for the meizu using mencoder or ffmpeg. However, I've seen no information about conversion using GStreamer, the preference audio/video engin under the GNOME environment.

The advantage of using GStreamer, is that knowing the good format to use, a profile corresponding to requirements of the Meizu could be created for transcoding tools like transmageddon and arista. Linux users could then benefit of out-of-the box transcoding for the Meizu.

I've tried a whole bunch of parameters, but nothings seems to get the job done. It tries to load the video (black screen with a moving circle showing it's busy), and then, nothing. It just returns back to the menu screen.

What are the bounds for audio/video you observed for your videos to work ? I've used the ones on the manual, and used by the demo video, but nothing seems to work...

Do you use variable or constant bitrate ?
Are the final videos rotated, like the demo video shipped with the meizu ?
