Audio Problems with converted videos

When i convert videos, be it .rm or .wmv files, I get crappy audio (sounds crystalised and horrible, equiv to 32kbps mp3 or worse). I'm using BADAK and am wondering.. is there a good setting for audio so that converted videos wont sound like crap on the M6? (oddly enough, one of my music videos turned out to be acceptable, but the others... are another story.)

I have yet to try winMenc, is that any better?

I have my fps for BADAK set at 20 and mp3 quality setting at 128kbps. =\

Any tips and suggestions are appreciated.
