    SmartVD 3.3.0

SmartVD seems to be a simplified front-end for VirtualDub made by showbill of the Chinese Meizu BBS.

For those having problems downloading, I have uploaded it on RapidShare.

    Download
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

I've just installed it and given it a quick try, and I must say the interface is far superior to what I've seen previously for Virtual Dub front ends.

The file replays well, with no obvious audio lag/breakup at the end of a 42 min file and file size is better than many other encoders.

With my fingers crossed, I'm now gonna try and encode a long filem to a large single file to see how it plays..... *gulp*

    XX-C - it's an update not a full install

install 3.1.0 then apply update - works great!

This is the best software I have tried yet, very little in the way of audio syncing issues! thanks!

My hopes were really high when i read the replies this program got, but when i installed it + updated it, i experienced some problems. When i added a video(Prison Break episode), i got this message <"23.976" is not a floating point value> I guess it has something to do with the FPS in the video. Any ideas?

How does the program handle decimals? If the program uses a comma as a separator it might give problems somehow. It's a little strange, but sometimes it happens. You might try to change your Country-settings in Windows. Use United States layout etc.etc.
Again, this problem should not occur but sometimes it happens.

i've tried to download the smartvd 3.1.0 from both error and lambo's links. both times, i've successfully downloaded the files but when i unzipped the file and tried to install, there's always an error. i don't know why. sigh. and i was so looking forward to trying it out.

Does anyone know if you can rip DVD's with SmartVD 3.2.0 or do I have to convert it using another sofware first?? I have tried adding VOB files but get the message "xxxxxxxxx is not a valid integer value"

This also happened once when I tried to convert an avi.

    Cheers!

It's still working fine for me, I've now encoded about a dozen files ranging from 40 min tv episodes to movies from 1hr20min to 1hr55min and no problems found.

Great program! First one I've used that hasn't caused audio sync issues.

Only thing worth noting is to confirm that it will not convert VOB DVD files. You'll need to convert to AVI using a different program first.

Personally I use Dr DivX (great program) but there are a ton of others equally good and easy to use.

Has anyone found a solution for Hiskos problem. I get the same error when I try to add a Avi file: "23.976" is not a floating point value.

    @Sajk:

I've attempted to replicate it with no success. Can you advise what codec has been used to create the avi file you wish to convert - this may help to shed some light on the problem.

finally managed to install the app! turns out that it wasn't the downloaded files that was the problem , but rather the program i was using to decompress them. anyway, i haven't tested it yet but i'll do that as soon as possible and post my opinion here.
