To fix the audio sync problem, load a self-made virtual dub profile which SmartVD uses together with its own settings...follow these simple steps just once :

    1. Load up virtual dub by itself (located in the smartvd\virtualdub folder)

    2. select audio-> interleaving -> set "delay audio track" to 300ms (+\-, whichever works for you, but this works for me with just about all tv-episodes)

    3. save processing settings and name it (file->save processing settings)

    4. exit virtual dub, and load up SmartVD

    5. click on "load vcf file" (center-right of the screen), and load the settings you made in virtual dub.

    6. Done! SmartVD will use the audio delay-setting together with its own settings, and you can use the vcf-file every time you convert something. (350k high speed, keep aspect ratio, rotate, 20fps, 32000hz 96kbps lame and volume 120 works perfect for me)

I've included my virtual dub processing settings file to make it even easier. (as a zip file, as the forum won't let me upload vcf-files)

    :D

    Ciao!
Thanks for the response. Forgot I'd posted on this topic and only just come back to it. Cheers.

EDIT: Actually having tried this method, it doesn't work for me. I'm using v3.4.0 and when I open a .vcf file, the drop down box still shows the profile that was there before. I tried putting the .vcf file in the vcf folder so I could select it from the drop-down box, which makes it selectable, but does not affect the interleaving. Even if I edit the .vcf file to have 1 second of interleaving, nothing happens. Still having to use the old method.

Hi, i found myself an answer to this issue i posted it may be useful to others too.
Actually, SmartVD have a Sample.srt.style file in install directory that have parameters for srt subtitles.
By changing one of them, all accent are now handled correctly.
I changed Fontname and encoding from 134 to 124 (don't ask me what that means) and it works.
    Sample.srt.style content :
    [V4 Styles]
Format: Name, Fontname, Fontsize, PrimaryColour, SecondaryColour, TertiaryColour, BackColour, Bold, Italic, BorderStyle, Outline, Shadow, Alignment, MarginL, MarginR, MarginV, AlphaLevel, Encoding
    Style: Default,System,20,16777215,15724527,14671839,0,0,0,1,1,3,2,3,3,3 ,0,124

Just obtain my M6, tried SmartVD, so far so good but is it always the case where when one start to convert, the XvID, Virtualdub, (3 or 4 windows) will pop out. I close them, leaving the virtualdub as i think if close, the conversion will terminate. Are there ways to have all the pop out windows suppress? So when i convert, its just the smartvd
