    Fast Forwarding in Videos bugged?

Hi yesterday i watched Saw III on my Meizu. Everything went good so far, but when i started fast forwarding the movietime went crazy and displayed me strange symbols. Then it froze for a moment and i was back in the video select screen. Any idea to fix that ?

Same thing for me when I tried to watch a film that was 1,5h. Up to an hour has never been a problem. Conversion was done with the software that came with the player. (firmware S2.001.1)

Same problem here with a film of 2h29... and i'm using firmware 2.001, don't known if the bug is fixed in 2.002. The result is also that you cannot resume the film !

I'm trying now to split the film in two part to see if the problem still occur

    [edit]
It work but now i've got another problem: video is bugging, repeating 1sec all the 2-3 sec... :-(

I noticed that when you keep the fast forward button pressed down eventually it wil forward properly. It starts at about 7 minutes onward to skip according to the exact time. Try it..

I'm seeing this too. Files (as per fast forwarding) are fine up to 1hour.

    Still in firmware S2.003.1
Also noticed recent video is now broken as well.
Same video files were fine on S1.010.2

Try using PocketDivxEncoder for your final conversion using the default Divx codec. I find I get perfect video and no FF problems.

Here is the settings profile I used.

    http://uploaded.to/?id=yzg6dq

Be sure to check sizing by pressing the RESIZE button and scrolling the slider to 320x240 if you are encoding widescreen video, this will give you full screen on the M6.

This is by far the best converter I have used, and being able to tweak up the contrast and saturation really enhances the video for the small screen.

Thanks for the info! May I ask you if it is a free or a priced product? Cheers

Hello PocketDivxEncoder is great however with the setup you gave it didnt play it on my M6 SP. But after I lowered the 20 fps to 18, it worked like a charm. Are you sure you can make movies with 20 fps Oo ?

hi , i just tried to convert a video following your quick guide, but if i resize the video to 320x240, the widescreen video i'm encoding will result out of proportions..i mean the video will be stretched upwards.

maybe you meant 'NOT wide screen videos'?

    many thanks!

Madman, thank you for this info. I have re-encoded a video using PocketDivxEncoder and it does now ff correctly. The audio sync seems worse though and using the 'correct audio/video sync' option doesn't help.

I wonder what has changed in the encoding. I normally use MediaCoder which uses Mencoder as the backend just as PocketDivxEncoder does. BTW PocketDivxEncoder doesn't use the DivX codec AFAIK, but sets the XDIV codec fourcc to DX50. I'm quite surprised that the M6 even plays the file as I thought that it would 'see' it as being in DivX format.

PocketDivxEncoder is certainly the fastest encoder I have used. It encoded the video in ~55 mins as opposed to MediaCoders ~75 minutes so that's a big bonus.
