SmartVD works for me but VirtualDub don't...Why!

Hi,

I've tried to convert several movies with virtualdub following the procedure found on this site and create them with several different settings in Divx, Xvid, different frame rates, etc and none worked. The device tries to open them and after a second goes back the the list of available videos.

With SmartVD the first one I tried and having the same movie as source it worked flawlessly. What the hell happens? it may be any setting applied cause it's clear that SmartVD sends the parameters but it's finally virtualdub who does the job.

Did anybody get out of this problem and create files directly with virtualdub?

Absolutely no problems with VirtualDub MPEG2 here.

Check your frame rate and video bitrate settings (I use 20 fps and 400 kbps), make sure that you are not coding with B-VOPs, GMC or Q-Pel. Use plain bicubic resize for a better picture and about 500ms audio skew delay to get the audio in synch.

With Xvid I use the unrestricted profile, set aspect to x3 y4, max I-frame of 300. I've also tried two pass coding, but there is very little to be gained by that.

Thanks for your answer mate. I finally realized there was a problem with the Vdub version cause in another computer it work perfectly. Replicated both installations and worked flawlessly :D.
