My personal settings for Batman

this is my personal settings for video conversion with Batman,i don't have any problem until now with this configuration,enter this settings in the QC mode and see if you have stutters or any problem,i know the quality could be better but i choose a good quality and above all stability:

for me it depends on the length of the video and the type of video
for example for music clips, wich are around 3 minutes, i take Q5, but for cartoons (like the simpsons) Q2 is enough becouse there is a much better compression becouse of the large single-colour areas.
the darker function is also very good for certain things, where you would normally have large, almost black squares, you can make them really black with this function.
only downside is, if you use this on a very dark video its just all black, but for a normal movie this gives a very good result.

all these settings are very personal, it's like the EQ settings for sound: everyone needs to find his own prioritys.

this is close to Q4 (after my the recent update). Q4 reserves more bits for the action scenes, though (and uses 2-pass). It's a matter of personal preference, maybe that's why you did not get much feedback on this. If there was any more stuttering with the default profiles, your settings would be the way to go, but I hope there isn't (because otherwise I would have spent a lot of time on that issue for nothing).
Btw, upscaling the sound from 44.1 to 48 is not a good idea other than for a 48 source because that will produce aliasing (downscaling produces no aliasing).

hello all, can I use batman for long videos?, I also have an Archos 404 and I play full length moviesin it, all avi. format, I bought a meizu but only used it as an mp3 player so far, since my meizu has 4gb capacity I figured it could also play full length movies... am I right? how is this done? plaease advice on what to do. its done exactly the same as short clips, just drag your .avi(video) file on the batman icon, and copy the result onto your player.

indeed, if you keep to 350k , just like the Q4 preset , it will not stutter

it's only when being hard pressed to the inner limits of the M6 chip that arises a difficult issue on controling bit rate against possible stutter ; for example I found that Libavc and the Batman Q5 preset for it would stutter where Xvid would not ! while it was commonly admitted that XviD was much harder to keep on a leash than Libavc for playback on the M6 in such 'extreme' condition ; still here, the average bit rate is 'only' 440k not even 470k ...

going down to 350k and everything went smooth again , so yes your target bit rate is correct

so it's impossible to go forward some videos i've converted in Q4? anyone have this problem??? with my settings it's possible to go forward
