I have checked your message, the output is alright, nothing unusual. Have you deleted and reinstalled like I suggested ?

sorry man, I have no more ideas. The program says if avisynth is "no", it should not start avs2wav.exe and in fact it doesn't do so on my pc.
If I rename avs2wav.exe and then try to convert a file, I get an error message that avs2wav.exe can't be found. If I set avisynth to no, I get no error message, like it should be. I have no idea what's different on your machine !

I realized when i used http://keepvid.com/ to save and download the youtube video it can be converted in batman. As compared to using other video downloaders like www.techcrunch.com/get-youtube-movie. I still can't figure out why different video downloaders give different results when all output are the same AVI.

Pointers for converting to Sony Walkman format?

I realize this is a bit OT, but if anyone point me toward a converter for AVI (xVid) to Sony Walkman format?
    Thanks

if you know your walkman's specs, you can still use BatMan. With "c" you start the custom profile which you can set to any specs you need in terms of bitrate, resolution, orientation etc. The output, however, is always mpeg-4/asp compatible AVI (either libav or xvid codec).

Thanks. I've reasearched it some more, and majority recommend going to h.264 in MP4 container for size/quality combination for Walkman.
Now I've run into an issue with Batman. I've finally installed Avisynth (already had ffdshow) It runs, but once the sound is converted to wave, and mencoder tries to start, it crashes right away. I suspected the problem with ffdshow, so I tried the version linked on FP, the version that comes with k-lite codec pack, and the latest beta off the sourceforge. Same results.
    Am I missing something obvious?

Hey still have some issues. First whenever I try to use the switch, delay command it says that avs2wav.exe cannot run and then Batman shuts down. The times it can work the audio is well behind the video. I tried using smart ripper first and then using a VOB file but there was still a delay with the audio. Do you have any suggestions for what I should do?? Thanks...

@Obviousman : what exactly happens when "it crashes" ? What codec type was your source video ?
@dhinkle16 : there is nothing I can do when avs2wav.exe is crashing (it's not my program). Deinstall Avisynth or add "set avisynth=no" to your "plugins/do this when BatMan starts.bat". Note that avs2wav.exe never crashes on my pc, which is XPsp3.
What do you mean by "the video will not open" ?
About your delay issue, I have difficulties following you. What exactyl do you do, what exactly happens then. Note that a delay of 270 ms while playing back the converted video on your pc is on purpose. Playing back on the M6 should be sync then.

Well the current problem is that when I use the set avisynth=no, the converted file is unable to open and play. Right now one of three things happens. The first is I can get the file to convert, but then the converted file has a delay of more than 270 ms because there is also a delay on my M6. Second is that avs2wav.exe crashes me. The third is that I use the "set avisynth=no" and the file will convert, but then after converting the file cannot be opened or played on my computer or on my M6. It appears this is a Vista issue, (I'm not much of a Vista fan...), but is there anything else I can try to fix these issues?

I have no idea what's wrong on your pc. On my XP everything works perfectly, audio is sync and no crashes. Maybe you should try it on another machine (or a virtual one) ?

Hi, that's a hard one. It would take me a while to make that possible, but I don't have any spare time right now. You'll have to redub such movies with a program that can handle matroska containers and eliminate the other audio stream. I don't have much experience with matroska but as far as I remember the latest version of virtualdub has mkv support.

alright, I was already wondering if you got everything installed properly, because I couldn't find any issues with your video data.

    avs2wav problem

Hi, I just installed Batman and experience the same problem as mentioned above: avs2wav crashes at least once with any conversion.

If it only crashes once, I get the following protocol (for example):
"Lada.wmv" : not compatible with DirectShow, falling back to MEncoder
    "Lada.wmv" : success.

If it crashes twice (i experienced this only with some - not all (!!) FLV files), I get the following protocol (for example) and no output file is generated:
"CharlieTheSpiderCat.flv" : not compatible with DirectShow, falling back to MEncoder
"CharlieTheSpiderCat.flv" : smooth playback method failed, now trying without
"CharlieTheSpiderCat.flv" : all failed, I am giving up on this.

I'm using Windos XP SP3. Any news about this bug??

Hi Chromix. In case that avs2wav crashes, temporarily disable it by doing the following :

    - in BatMan's main menu enter "exe", then enter "set avisynth=no"
    - if you did it right, the main menu will read "smooth playback mode not possible"
    - note that proper framerate conversion is not a vailable in this mode, but the avs2wav problem should be gone

hint : permanently disable that feature by adding "set avisynth=no" to your "D:\Program Files\Batman\plugins\do this when BatMan starts.bat" (do this with a text editor of your choice, e.g. notepad.exe)
