I was having trouble using FF and RW on the player, so I used the 'repair' function which works like a charm. However, for some reason it affects the aspect ratio. Without using this function, the video keeps the correct widescreen aspect ratio, but crops the sides off to give a 4:3 look. However, using 'repair', the encoder stretches the video making everyone very tall and skinny. This is the only thing I've changed. I have looked on the forum and can't find anything relating to this problem.

I used Batman to convert a video, quality Q4, however the output video is 0 bytes and can't be played. It has been encoding for about 5 min and no errors popped up. Any ideas BobbyQ? Thanks in advance!!

Its kinda weird. I have been using batman for quite sometime and only recently i realise batman do audio extract.

Now i got another problem. Everytime i want to convert, there is this avs2wav.exe error message pops up. How do i fix this?

This already happened before i replace the flv plugin(so this is not the problem).

avs2wav tends to quit with an error message for some vista users. I have no idea why - and the author doesn't respond to email.
The only thing you can do is telling BatMan to don't use it by entering special command "exe" and then "set avisynth=no". If the problem occurs with each and every video, deinstall Avisynth (or add "set avisynth=no" to your "plugins\do this when BatMan starts.bat") to turn off the feature forever. However, you won't be able to get a smooth framerate conversion without it.
Note that this problem never happened to me on my fully patched XPSP2.

    Thanks alot BobbyQ.

Set the avisynth=no is solves the avs2wav.

Thanks alot for ur Batman man.

(I've been using ur super old batman, and after i use the latest 1, I've found that it doesnt require flv plugin to convert cartoons(flv) unlike the old 1.)

I have problems with Batman Video Converter: Every movie that I convert cannot be rewinded! Even the first 60 minutes...
And another problem - When I watching any film converted by Batman, the sound is playing a little bit earlier than picture. Don't Know what to do...

P.S. Installed latest codec pack and latest version of Batman.

read "problem 7" in the first thread (have you read the first thread at all ?). If you feel the need to manually delay the audio track, you can use the special command "delay" and enter a value in milliseconds.

First of all, my compliments for this great tool. Thanks to everyone putting time and effort in the programm that took my Meizu to a higher and more user friendly platform.

Since I've upgraded my PC into Vista I've been experiencing some audio/video synch problems on several .avi files for the first time. It worked perfect before.
How can I found out what the real issue is?
I assume it is a codec problem. I have the K-lite pack, but maybe I'm missing a audio coded that could smoothen things?

you have to be more specific because there is no a/v sync issue running BatMan on vista in general. What kind of video is your source (is it sync ?), what kind of a/v sync problem do you have in particular ? Your installed codecs can probably cause problems, that's why I recommend using only ffdshow and nothing else, especially not k-lite because it contains a lot of fancy stuff which I cannot give support for (and in fact don't need ..)

The original video has in sync a/v. And what I experience is that sound is ahead of video, and it gets worse over the length of the video.
However, with the same source (a television serie) the level of 'out of synch' differs per episode.

I am aware I need to be more specific, but how do I find out what the exact v/a codecs are?
I have both K-lite and ffdshow. I will try to remove the K-lite package and see if (reinstalling) the latest updates ffdshow and avisynth fixes the issue.

    Ok, Batman says:

...not compatible with Directshow, falling back to MEncoder...
...smooth plackbay method failed, now trying without...
    ...succes.

The one episode is not as bad out of sync as the ones before. But still not perfect. I'll try with another source video tomorrow, maybe it's just bad luck on this particular source of episodes.

every video gets out of sync after a time when you play it back on the M6. All you gotta do is hit >>| or |<< for a second and it is in sync again. That's a bug in the meizu firmware with no final solution yet.
