Just bought 8 gig miniplayer... very excited!
I dragged some .dvr-ms (Windows Media Center) files onto Batman and they look like they converted to DivX fine. However, when I try to view them on the Meizu, it crashes.
Does Batman support dvr-ms? Is there one extra step I need to get it to work? If not, does someone have a better solution?
Thanks in advance!!

Hi, I have never heard of .dvr-ms yet. If you want, you can send me a test file and I'll see what I can do (upload instructions via private message)
BatMan, the free video converter for Meizu players. Problems ? English First Aid here. Deutsche Erste Hilfe hier.

Yeah, dvr-ms is a silly mpeg wrapper that Windows Media Center uses. Unfortunatly I like the other features of media center enough that I'm not ready to abandon it completely.
If I run the file through another application (VideoReDo) it will fast frame copy the file into a standard MPEG format, then run it through Batman, and then the file will work on the Meizu w/o problems. I was just curious because Batman seemed to convert the .dvr-ms file directly, it just wouldn't work in the player!
I am busy tonight, I will cut a little test clip and send it to you tomorrow. Thanks! I appreciate your efforts.

Hi salsasam85, I have checked your video snippet and found the problem. This is Microsoft's DVR codec which is generally supported by MPlayer's ffmpeg MPEG1/2 decoder library, but that seems to have a minor bug which results in a corrupt AVI header (while the video frames are perfectly okay). That makes the Miniplayer crash when you try to play it.
Here is how to solve the problem with BatMan :
- drag the file over to BatMan
- c for custom
- delay
- 0
- enter
- enter
- edit *
- now enter the following settings one after another : 6000,6000,25,320,44100,000,000,no,2 (these settings get saved automatically so you won't have to type them again next time)
- after converting, convert the resulting video again with the profile of your choice, and it will work
This trick works with most "problem" videos and is an alternative to the "repair" feature which would not have helped in case of .dvr-ms files. With the above settings, the quality is so high that you won't notice any quality differences.
* next time you want to do this again, you can just press enter at that place to recall the last saved settings.
