I just bought the meizu m6 and I really like it. My only problem is that I cannot get videos to transfer to the player correctly.
When I look into troubleshooting it's telling me to use the software that came with the player but that's exactly the problem, my software isn't working. The cd that the player came with does not have the exact software that I'm being told to use to transfer videos to my player.
I installed the video converter (which isn't virtual dub) and had to uninstall dvix and realplayer.
I would keep searching these forums but unfortunately I do not have the time right now..
Basically, I need the software that allows me to transfer the media to the media player. I have numerous video conversion softwares (I understand everything has to be in .avi format) but no software for transfering the media to the player.
When I copy & paste or drag and drop movie clips into the video folder, they never play back. It simply tries to play them back and fails. It does play the promotional meizu video though..
Thank you to anyone who may be able to help me!

There is no dedicated software needed for loading files to Meizu players, just copy and paste as you have done. If the video files are not playing then they are most likely incorrectly encoded.
Try using BatMan by "BobbyQ" to encode your video.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsPerhaps you can tell us a bit more to shed some light on the problem.
1. Which OS do you have on your PC? Windows XP Professional?
2. Can you confirm that the converted video is viewable on your PC? You should be able to view the video using Windows Media Player or some other media player program on your PC. The video may be rotated 90 degrees on the PC due to the orientation specified for the M6, nonetheless you should be able to play/view it on your PC.
3. After you drag-and-drop the video onto the Meizu, do you see the video clips on the Meizu using Explorer, when the M6 is connected to your PC?

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI'm operating on Windows Vista Home Ed.
Yes, the videos do play on any media player (real player, windows media player, etc).
Lastly, yes the clips do show on the meizu and I can play them through windows while the M6 is still connected to my computer.
The more I keep looking into it, it seems like a codec problem. I'm thinking it also might help if I just reformat the entire M6 and start over.. I'm going to wait before I do that though.
I've tried using batman, iriverter, the video converter that comes with the M6, and 4U AVIMPEG converter. The 4U converter is what I've been using for the past couple years with no problems.
If this is a codec problem, I need to figure out which ones I'm missing.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHmm..., based on your observations, it seems the file transfer is not the problem (since you can play back on Windows the video files on the Meizu) and that the conversion is not the culprit either.
So you suspect it's an issue with codec compatibility? But I don't see how, if codec is indeed the problem, formatting the M6 would help, since I don't believe M6 utilizes DLL and other Windows structures for their decoder. With the limited storage the decoder is most likely hard coded in the firmware. Reformatting will only change (if there exists any difference between XP and Vista) the file system and not the hard coded portion of the firmware.
Batman works perfectly under XP, perhaps the difference is in the OS? BobbyQ will be able to give you the answer on that.Last edited by odmanca; 10-29-2007 at 06:13 PM.
