    Video Conversion Software

A list of video conversion software for the Meizu M6 Mini Player.

BatMan - Latest conversion software created by Meizu Me member BobbyQ. BatMan has grown popular during recent times and is the first choice for many members.

MZ Video Converter - Outputs XviD, rotates video. Very smooth video and the easiest to use.

VirtualDub-MPEG2 - Outputs XviD. Very smooth video, but tricky to configure. Use this when having problems with other programs.

WinMEnc - Outputs DivX. Supports subtitle, rm, mov, avi, wmv, etc. Able to queue files.

BADAK - Outputs DivX. Supports subtitle, rm, mov, avi, wmv, etc. Able to queue files.

    Convert video files

I use iriverter with Meizu M6 Profile. Works great. Simple and effective.

    Iriverter Download

    M6 Iriverter Profile

I suggest video 432kbps and audio 80 kbps for everything from movies to tv shows to cartoons. Make sure you select "Normalize the volume". Avoid manually adjusting.

NOTE: My not work with some .wmv sources. You need to convert from .wmv to something else before iriverter can convert it.

I used iriverter with Meizu M6 Profile as posted by Fluffywings above. It looks a great tool but when I converetd a DVD (447mb file created)using the M6 Iriverter Profile the avi file did not work on my although it plays on my PC.

    Does anybody know why

I too have tried using irverter to convert a DVD. It doesn't seem to work. MZ video converter doesn't too.
    VirtualDub works though. Use that.

Have now found what appears to be an excellent solution :

    1] winmenc : divx, 400 k video, 128 k audio and 20fps
    2] smart_vd : 300 K video, and 96 k audio

Results produce fine video (even for complex stuff like mass bunch cycle race) and good audio (for movies up to 1 hr 40 minutes : though have not managed to watch a whole one through yet : for reasons of time)

Most of them are based on the same back-end (Mencoder) so naturally there are split opinions as to which is the "best".

Your question is like asking what brand of cola is the best. In that case I would answer Coca-Cola, the one and only original cola!

I try to encode an 30 sec. mp4 movie (made with a Samung P300 phone).
    352 width x 288 height, video codec H.263 (13.18 fps), audio codec AMR-small band mono (8000khz).

I use the encoder form the Meizu site but that hangs-up. Now what?

Try to encode it once before usin the MEIZU encoder with another encoder. Any converter that converts your file into avi, mpeg or even emv should do for the first run ... I recommend avi though due to some probs I had with mpeg.
Wasn't able to try it on the player though ... still waitin for mine

But that's strange! I installed Meizu's encoder with a big codec pack and still it's a tough/impossible job. How will n00bs experience this player???

Well goodluck in waiting, we ordered about 200 players, 4 arrived broke and now 1 week later already half a dozen broke down...

Is there also a simple tool/program that can rip a DVD movie to a (avi/wmv) file and burn a certain subtitle into it at the same time?

After that I want to use the Meizu encoder to be able to play the movie on my M6.

Below is a link to a download page of Dr Divx. This will convert VOB's to AVI's and allows you to specify the audio streams and subtitle streams you wish to add to the encoded file.

The output file will be suffixed '.divx' so you need to rename it '.avi'

    http://www.free-codecs.com/Dr_DivX_download.htm

If your program/movie is split into several VOB files, you will end up with several AVI files, so you may want to join them.

Alternatively, you can use DVD Shrink http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/dvds...6_jp_setup.zip to re-author the DVD into one VOB, then convert it to an AVI.

Once you have the AVI you can use a program like those noted earlier in this thread to turn the file into one the M6 can use.

There is also a one step solution:

Download a program called iRiverter http://iriverter.sourceforge.net/download.shtml This program will convert VOB files directly to M6 compatible AVI files. Note that you will need to setup a profile with the M6 parameters to do this. There is an earlier thread in this forum which links to a pre prepared profile file.

I would think that option 1 is a bigger file but also better picture & sound.

What is the FPS in the 2nd option, how are the filesizes, is the 1st option noticable better?

I recently converted a movie that was an hour and 23 minutes and the audio seems to be out of sync by a good 3 seconds. I've converted it multiple times too using the MZ converter that came on the minidisc. Are there any converters that can convert and keep the audio in sync?
