Is there a way to display soft subs?

Hello all, I'm new to the forum and I just got my Meizu miniplayer M6, which I absolutely love! I have installed video converter 1.0 on my computer and it has been able to convert all my video files perfectly. The only problem I have is that some of my video files have soft subtitles, which the M6 cannot display. Is there a program that will allow for me to convert my video files to .avi and display the subtitles on my M6 player? Also, I have a lagging issue with some of my videos for some reason. It seems to be random at times and I am not sure if it is the video converter 1.0 software or the player itself that is doing this. Is there a better software out there than video converter 1.0 or will I have to wait for a firmware update to fix that issue? Thank you for your help!! Tekka

    Still does not show subs

Am I doing something wrong when I convert the video or do I have to actually have a file that contains the subtitles to make this work? The video plays fine on my M6, but of course the subs do not appear. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Well, both converters do not work...I guess I'll just have to watch w/out subs. The files I'm trying to convert are .mkv and .ogm and they show up but the subs just don't display. Thanks for trying though!

your subtitles are within the matroska container (.mkv) You must demultiplex them to .srt with an appropriate software first. VirtualDubMod is capable of doing that. As soon as you have the video and the .srt files separated, you can convert them with BatMan - it will find the subtitle automatically if you use the same filenames.

Why not make the .mkv and .ogm subtitle detection the same as with DVD? MEncoder should be able to do that.

video and subtitle just need to have the same name and be in the same folder :
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.avi
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.srt

Then drag the avi file to BatMan. The subtitle will be recognized automatically.
Supported subtitles are : .srt .sub .smi

    still not working

I just got virtualdubmod installed and I am opened the .mkv file and I am trying to separate the subs from the video; yet I cannot even get the video to play on the software. How exactly do I separate subtitles from video? Once I can accomplish that I can use ogmtoavi to make the avi with the subs. Thanks again for the help and sorry for posting back so later.
