BatMan should ask you what language to use at startup. The standard might be German, maybe you missed it.

To see how it basically works, please take a look at the screenshot in the BatMan thread. Double-clicking the BatMan icon on your desktop will take you to the language selection anytime. Enter "en" for English.

the sound of your source video seems to be unsupported. Use MediaInfo (freeware) to get details about it.

I never got Batman to work at all.
Drop a file in there and nothing happens.
    I can't even uninstall it.

'Badak' software worked the first time and converted without any problem.
Search this site for Badak video converter or on Google.
Download it you're on the way to enjoy video.

I have tried just about every video coding software including Badak and would recommend you try WisMencoder which is available somewhere on the forum or on the net.

I had to update some of the English translations and insert a different copy of mencoder but it was well worth playing around with as it has a very good user interface, easy to use, very reliable and produces good results.

As it is another mencoder front end the results are the same as Batman but there is no hidden mencoder scripts, the user can see what actual commands look like and you can tweak them if you know how.

If it is the absolute best quality videos that you want then you will not find any software that comes close to VirtualDubMod and AviSynth working together.

I agree, VirtualDub is really a good software but not for the novice or someone who just want to drag and drop.... as with Badak converter.

How did you make VirDub work?
    ( I have the plain version from http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/ )

I use VirtualDub for other videos but I could not find the right settings for Meizu and nothing worked for me even if I followed bitrate and so on. Maybe I missed something?

Could you post your saved filters and settings?
Then, all I have to do is load it to VDub and should work.

    - for people who don't like reading there is a screenshot telling you that the video must be dragged to the BatMan desktop icon, not to the program
    - uninstallation is not needed because it doesn't install (it just copies itself to your programs directory where you can easily delete it)

    do the following :
    - download MediaInfo
    - read and understand what MediaInfo's purpose and usage is
    - use it on your video
    - post the audio details so I can tell you if it is supported or not
