    Please help with video

    I have just bought a Meizu m6 and am baffled by how to put video on to it. The cd contains a program called Video Converter, whilst the manual gives instructions for Virtual Dub. Is there a set of instructions for the complete novice?

    The best tool that I have found so far is Batman, it is available for download on this forum, try a search.

    It have tried nearly all rest and Batman is the only one that gives a near perfect sync. of sound/voice to picture yet it is the most simple to use.

    After you have it installed you will have a Batman icon on your computer desktop, simply drag your video onto the icon and it will pop up a window ( old DOS type), after selecting your language it will give you a few numbered options, enter the number (usually always 5) and hit enter, next you will have further options but to begin with just hit enter again and wait for it to convert your video.

    Connect your USB cable then copy the video into the video folder on your mini player.

    The converted video is really only any good for your mini player as the application has now resized it, changed the frame rate and rotated it.

    Good Luck!

    Don't bother with the included software. Go here:

    BatMan - einfache Stapelverarbeitung für MEncoder

    Batman is the only way to go. I have never even loaded the included software. Batman just requires you to drop whatever you want converted on to it and then pick a few options and its done. You can even do whole DVD's (I'm watching Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark as we speak).

    Edit: I appear to have been a little slow!

    Please help

    Thank you for your input. I've downloaded BatMan and dragged a small piece of video on to the icon. The DOS box says that access is denied. If I open BatMan as administrator, then I am told that I have to drop video to the icon, first.

    Sorry for being stupid< but I am old.

    I don't want to start a new thread....I have a question/problem with the Batman converter. I open up the program, type in en for language, drag a file over and press 4, then enter and the program automatically closes. What am I doing wrong?

    It sounds as if you are trying to convert some form of video that is not supported, what is it you are trying to convert?

    .Avi files which were converted from flv videos. I used the converter provided by Meizu and it worked fine but when I try to convert it in Batman the program just shuts down. The Meizu converter works ok but I want to see if I can get better quality through Batman.

    Perhaps it functions, if you convert the flv files
    with another program.
    I use this small Freewaretool:
    http://www.bitcomet.com/tools/flvconverter/index.htm
    And then, start Batman not, if you pull a video on it. It starts automatically.

    Flash video files are always a pain, you will never get good quality as they have been reduced to play over the internet.

    Have you tried to repair the .avi file?

    You will never get it to work by selecting option 4 , try a low frames option.

    Sorry to be a nuisance, but I have another question. How do I get the video to show in full screen mode? Its size, on the M6 screen is 176x128 (good quality image, though)

    Hi, you seem to have set your BatMan to "M3 Music Card" mode. Enter "D" to cycle through the supported devices until you see "M6 Miniplayer", then the solution will be 320x240.
    Oh and one more word on .flv : it's true that not all of them are supported. Using a dedicated flv2avi converter first would be a good idea.

    Hi Bobby. I tried entering D and that brings up a choice of D, Z or X, where D is a Rockchip based player (224x176, Z is Zoom and X is High vid experimental.

    "D = Device is Meizu M3 Music Card"
    --> you enter D and it shows
    "D = Device is Rockchip 1 - based Player (224x176)"
    --> I wrote above

    C'mon, that is a solvable riddle.

    Hi wolfie12k.
    - some .flv videos just don't work with mencoder, use a dedicated flv-converter to convert to avi before you use BatMan in that case
    - if you drag a video to BatMan and just press Enter, the menu gets redrawn and nothing else happens. Please specify what keys you press and how the program reacts. However, in your special case, the program terminates because mencoder does not support the video you've been trying to convert. So, I don't really need additional info on what happened

    Batman is still not working for me. Previously I was trying flv and converted flv-avi files and the player would close when I entered a command. Recently I dragged an avi file (which the meizu software was able to convert) to Batman and again it automatically closed. Did I download some weird version? Could someone post in this thread the correct version to download and then instructions on extracting the files? Thanks.
