I'm currently using the Batman video encoder program and successfully converted a 700mb video to 3xxmb. It plays on my m6 player fine, however, the seeking function does not work. Everytime I try to forward a bit, it will revert back to the Video menu screen. The skip button works, but can't seem to fast forward in the video. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I don't understand your question ? drag your original video over to BatMan, choose a quality, enter "repair" and that's it.

I know that the repair strategy doesn't work with 100% of the videos. One last thing you can try is to convert your original video with VirtualDub and use a high video bitrate of 6000 to keep quality, then convert the result with BatMan (with and without repair). If this still can't be FF'd, you could only upload the original or a part of it, and I'll take a look (upload info via PM).

In the past I have found converting using Divx codec instead of Xvid fixed videos that had this problem.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThis might have been covered here already, but I guess I'll say it anyway so perhaps I would give a new info hopefully.
I can't help in that problem, but somewhere I've discovered a very nicely settable graphical frontend for mencoder (And batman uses that as well if I'm right) which also supports ffmpeg (an other such thing as far as I know, and at least to me, it appeared to be even better). So perhaps you could try to have a go with that program, as - so far - I haven't seen any bogus converted videos using that program (set to ffmpeg - DirectShow).
It is free software.

P.S.: No, I'm not affiliated with that program's creator, I'm simply a user who's satisfied with it, and recommends it
Edit: Oh yea, and I'm not saying that BatMan's not a great little piece of software, just that maybe a graphical ui and a choice to use a different converter put it too much weight on the other program for me. I hope I haven't made anybody angryLast edited by Speeder; 09-12-2007 at 11:52 AM.

Hi speeder, don't worry ..
- "super" has never worked for me, no video was playable on the M6. Also it did aspect ratio wrong, so I don't care about it
- BatMan uses libavcodec as default, which uses FFMpeg libraries as default. So this can't be the solution to the above problem
- we are talking here of a very small percentage of videos having the FF problem, of which the majority can be fixed with "repair". The rest is so rare that I don't even have one of those clips here in my test pool
- the not FF'ding videos can easily be FF'd with the "hold for 10 seconds" trick, so there is even a simple workaround
@Madman : can you provide such an unconverted video for testing ?BatMan, the free video converter for Meizu players. Problems ? English First Aid here. Deutsche Erste Hilfe hier.

Sorry no samples, I usually delete the parent video rip after conversion. I experienced the problem a number of times when using VirtualDub based encoders and then switched to PocketDivxEncoder and never had the problem again when using Divx. Have never had the problem with BatMan though but then I have only ever used Q5.
