I converted the movie One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes) to play on my Meizu M6 4GB SP with the MZ Video Converter, but when I tried to play the video my player locked up and I had to restart it. Any idea what is wrong or how to fix it?

The original Meizu converter does not convert all movies right. Try one of the other programs from this forum, they'll do better.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThe first program I tried to use was your Batman program, but halfway through each time I tried to convert my video I got an error that said mencoder.exe needed to shut down. Any idea why that would happen?

Sorry, no idea. Never had mencoder.exe crashing before. Maybe your video is corrupted ? Try converting it with VirtualDub first.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI'm not sure if this helps at all, but when I convert with Batman it always give me an error around 50-60% complete, and when I open up the folder that originally contained my avi file it has two extra files: pass1.avi and pass2.avi. pass1.avi is around 120 MB, but pass2.avi is 0 MB.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI converted a small video file with BatMan (Quality 0) and loaded it on my player, and it worked fine. Then I tried to convert my movie (Quality 4). I played it in VLC on my computer and it looked fine, it had the right resolution, and it was rotated. I transfered it over to my player, though, and I couldn't get it to work. When I load up the video, the screen just goes black, and I have to hold the power button to get back to the video menu. Any idea what could be wrong?
Note: The screen that appears now is different than the one that appeared earlier when I converted the video with MZ. The old one had two different shades of black on it and a line of green on the side, and the player completely froze when I tried to play it. The new one just has a flat black screen and it doesn't freeze.

Hi joshley and welcome to the forum. What do you expect pressing |>> before the clip has loaded to do ? And by my experience there are clips that don't play at all if they have some incorrect settings, e.g. 25 fps or bitrate>512 kbps. There is no "trick" to make such files play without converting them into a proper data format.

Some problem here. However;
Small movies (45-50 minutes) work fine...
Larger movies sometimes play, but impossible to Fast Forward, when I try, I end up being thrown back to the menu.
Really large movies (>2 hours) lock up the Meizu -> black screen, need to soft reset the player.
In all cases above I used batman quality level 4.
I still have around 4GB free space, so no problem in this area I would say...
I would be interested in a solution, but will try some other conversion software as mentioned before...
