Has anyone played a full length video, on the Meizu and did it look good
and play well? Also does anyone know what windows media player version
has an option to rip music, they have had several versions the 6, the 9, 10
and now 11. Is there anyone that is better than the others for videos and
ripping music to download to the M6?
Thanks

Hi WT,
I just bought my Miniplayer 2 days ago and tried an episode of 24 using VirtualDub-MPEG2. I already had the XViD-codecs installed and when I used the setup that is discussed at the fora of en.meizu.com it works superb for me. No sync problems or blurry movies. 20FPS is fine.
Just make sure you use the right settings. I don't know about WMP11 with the encoding things. I just use Virtualdub. It's a superb program. Also to cutout commercials and other unwanted material. E.g. I downloaded some podcasts from National Geographic and converted these with VirtualDub and they show up fine. Make sure you rotate the movie.
You don't have to use WMP11 for music. Just use any program you like and use drag&drop (or copy-paste whatever)...
It's 'just' a beautiful external HD that can play music and videos.
Hope this helps.

Converting to correct size
Hi Goods,
With Virtualdub you can crop (or expand) your video. My 24 was also widescreen. I don't no the exact resolution anymore, but lets say for example 720x405 (16:9).
Now divide the 720 by 320. The result is your conversion factor: 720:320 = 2.25
Next, divide 405 by the factor (2.25) which results in: 180. So your resolution would be 320x180
Your problem is now that if you convert to 320x240 the picture looks squuezed. To resolve this problem you have to tell VirtualDub that you need black (or whatever color you like) bars above and beyond the movie (or just above, you can choose it all).
I use VirtualDub-MPEG as encoder.
Click "Video"->"Filters"->"Add" and then select the "Resize"-filter. If you doubleclick the Resize-filter you see its properties. Set new width and height to the example above (320x180) and check "Expand frame and letterbox image". Then the new frame height and width are available. Set these to 320x240. You can also change the color of the bars that are generated.
I attached a screenshot of the screen where you can set it.
If you use these settings your movie won't be squeezed or pulled out.
Hope this helps. If not (or any other questions), plz post 'm

Nope, haven't tried it.
As far as I understand, de player does play MPEG-4 Simple Profile. But I might be wrong. I must say that using Xvid fulfills my need. A/V Sync is ok and the quality is also pretty neat.
I sure am going to try the smart-resizer.Last edited by cheezum; 12-22-2006 at 08:21 AM.
