Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsAll day, every encoder... no luck...
I have tried just about every encoder on this forum and used different methods such as ripping the DVD as an image, as vob files, or straight from the DVD into every encoder recomended on here and still no luck.
I am trying to get a full DVD movie to play on my brand new M6 player.
I was sucessful doing that with the supplied converter that came with my M6 player, but the audio is WAY off sync, like someone completes a sentence THEN their mouth moves...
So I tried the other converters, they all produce a file I can see on my PC just fine but locks up my player with a black screen when I try and play it there.
Only sucess was Loli player and ripping a 40 minute Star Trek episode, plays GREAT.. of course when I do a full movie, I get black screen lock up.
I tried ripping seperate VOB files then converting it with Loli... same thing, black screen lock up.
WHAT the hell am I doing wrong?!?!? I know how to rip DVD's to my HD using programs like DVD Shrink etc. but from there I need a program that will make usable .avi files for my M6 player.
It can either be one big long file or split.. I just wanna watch a damn DVD on my player while I wait 2 hours in my doctors office for an appointment I showed 30 minutes early for.
Help me... please.
I'm running Vista 64-bit, I think the only program that didn't work was that one "iriva" or something and my player is an M6 SP with the latest firmware.
Thank you for any help.

hi. to be honest, I have never tried to rip a DVD directly to my Meizu. But here is my tip : just use DVDShrink or any other well-known way to produce a "normal" DivX movie like 720*400 and try to convert that to the Meizu with the programs from this forum.
Loli's Converter works very well for me with (almost) perfect a/v sync. If you want to have some more options on quality, try the batch converting I have made last night : BatMan - einfache Stapelverarbeitung für MEncoder (thread is in German but the program is in English). It is a drag'n'drop batch processing for MEncoder (open source multimedia encoder http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/news.html )
cheers :DBatMan, the free video converter for Meizu players. Problems ? English First Aid here. Deutsche Erste Hilfe hier.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsMEncoder should work for ripping straigth from a DVD. I'm using MEncoder v1.0-rc1 with libdvdcss v1.2.9 for copy-protection. (Of which the last one seems to be of disputable legitabillity in certain countries.)

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWhat firmware are you running on your meizu? 1.0 firmwares seem to have issues with long movies. Also, sometimes you can have a file that has a few bad frames to start with... I usually encode mine from 4 seconds in or so. Theres lots of things that can go wrong in the process, so it takes some narrowing down. Just as mfb, I use mencoder, but I usually don't rip from dvd, but instead convert pre-ripped files.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI'm not ripping straight from a DVD to my player. I'm simply trying to get a DVD movie onto my player anyway I can.
I first ripped the DVD via DVD Shrink to files on my HD. THEN I convert the files using something like Loli which produces a file around 400mb, I put it on my player and it locks the player up with a black screen and I have to reset it.
The firmware is the very latest, I jsut got my player yesterday and checked the firmware with what was on the website and it is the latest. Also it isn't the players fault the audio is so far out of sync, when I play the file on my PC that has been encoded with the software that came with the player it too is out of sync.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHello,
I converted a DVD movie ("Matrix") straight to my M6 yesterday using iRiverter and a custom profile for Meizu (384kbps for video and 128kbps for audio, at 15fps). I managed to play the whole movie on the M6, but when I tried fast-forwarding it, the playback stopped. Then I tried ripping the DVD again, but splitting the output file in three parts (Matrix_1.avi, Matrix_2.avi and Matrix_3.avi); now the fast-forward works seamlessly, and there are no sync problems. I'll try splitting the output file in two parts later on.
I also ripped some episodes from "The Simpsons" directly to M6 compatible XviDs. They all play just fine, with fast-forward and no sync problems.
The custom profile I'm using with iRiverter can be downloaded here -- Thanks, xx-c!DAPs/Buds/Misc:

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThis is correct. I have a linux mencoder script that i had posted on here that will automatically chop up 20 minutes, this was from another open source code i found.. But i tweaked the script to use the maximum settings usable with no sync issues.
Search for my posts. (advanced search and put by me shookie)

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWhen I first noticed the files not playing (a week ago) I just ended up upgrading mine to the 2.002.3 version, and all my long movies play fine.. I also dont notice any sync issues.
