    Problems with movies.

I've tried to watch both Supernatural and CSI NY on my m6, after converting of course (Loli converter), but once I play it it loads for a second and then nothing, just a blank screen. And then I have to press down the enter button for several seconds in order to do anything at all with the player.

Anyone who might know what's wrong?

well..something is wrong with your conversion.. thats for sure

The files arent over an hour or anythingr right?(as they are CSI eps and such)

Double check your settings and maybe go for Virtual Dub. That seems to give me good results.. use the search button to find the Virtual Dub pre-set file to easily use
Actually the converter that comes with the player words for me too

Try converting at lower bit rates. This problem happens a bit with large and high bitrate files. Failing that. Try converting using Iriverter with the M6 profile. A link is on one of the stickies at the top of the page.

I think not the output is the problem but the input video is. Loli's Converter does not checks for ALL circumstances that could happen.
My advice is to decompress the whole movie and then compress it again. Transcoding is a fragile art when it comes to compatibility.

Honestly, mz video converter has worked for me in nearly all circumstances, unless a video was encoded kinda wierd and then for those I use smartvd. Smart vd uses virtual dub at its core, and mz video converter uses mencoder. Mencoder is MUCH faster, so I use it more often for that very reason.

I ran into problems using mz for videos with subtitles, because even using srt files, it doesnt handle the video rotation correctly. So, via another thread I read on this forum, I figured out how to do it correctly. Now, an hour of video is about 150 megs or so, since I encode at 256 kbps for video, and 96 kbps for audio. Video is pretty smooth for the most part, and I always keep original aspect ratio (widescreen letterbox).

for mz, i use the opendivx codec.
