    Photos must be 4:3?

Or can they be different aspect ratios also? (320x240 is 4:3)

Will the M6 stretch or just leave black marks with photos of different aspect ratios?

It doesn't stretch them. It leaves black fields

Thank you. Do I have to rotate them so they're 240x320 or will 320x240 be automatically rotated?

I know I must rotate video to 240x320 (according to a video how-to i saw...)

You have to rotate them yourself

Ok... to confirm... they must be 240 (wide) x 320 (tall)?

that really depends on the orientation of your picture. if it's portrait orientation, then yes, it's 240 wide and 320 tall. but if it's landscape orientation, then it'll have to be 320 wide and 240 tall.

What? Ok, this confuses me even more. The previous poster says the M6 does *NOT* autorotate the photos to maximize the screen space of the M6.

But now you're saying it can? What is it?

AFAIK it's like this: Pictures will be shown as they are. Nothing will be cut off, but the "missing" parts are filled with black. The pictures are not rotated or something. If you want them to be rotated you will have to do it yourself before you upload them to your miniplayer.

    Yep, no auto-rotation :

    a 4:3 photo => fullscreen
a 3:4 photo => black on left and right with photo in the middle

Hmm... wow. Okay, almost all my photos are in portrait orientation. That will be annoying. That's strange though, video must be in 3:4 but still images must 4:3?

I heard something about auto-rotation hidden deep inside options?

ok guys, the m6 DOES have an auto-rotation function for photos. You just go to Photos > Slide Show Settings > Auto Rotate (On or Off).

let's differentiate aspect ratio with orientation.

so let's say you have 2 photos, one is 320 wide by 240 tall (landscape) and the other is 240 wide by 320 tall (portrait). if you've turned on the auto rotate function, then the m6 will detect the orientation of your pictures and output them properly on the screen.

what the m6 won't do is stretch the pic for you if it's not exactly 320x240 or 240x320. so here we're talking about the aspect ratio. so if your pic is 300x250, black bands will appear in the sides so that you'll be able to see the whole picture.

hope this has somehow helped make things clear.

THANK YOU. That's all I wanted to know. I could always rotate the meizu by hand, so maximizing the screen space is all I could ask for. Awesome. Thank you again and thank you meizu!
