PocketDivX for DummieS
Okay, based from two friggin' days of experience (Hours and hours of encoding and converting long movies), I have found a very easy way to convert video files using PocketDivX Encoder.
The end product of this tutorial is that you can watch proportioned video (no stretching and things like those.. you can still stretch them if you want to) on your Meizu M6 with less (or without in my case) any AV Synch or FForward problems.
Steps:
1) Okay, first of all, fire up your PocketDivX Encoder (It's an independent file which means that you can bring it anywhere with you using your USB flash disk or your Meizu miniplayer to encode movies using other computers) Don't input any file just yet
2) Click Advanced options

Click the Device image

Select Archos

then select the 2nd one

3) Input your file (Specify your output if you want to.. else save the encoded file in the same folder as the original)
4) Load the settings provided (Download attachment)
5) **Very Important** Make sure that the output filename has the suffix Archos.avi
If you've followed up to this point and your output filename suffix is PocketPC.avi, then you're screwed! Output filename suffix doesn't mean anything (you can just change them if you want to) I just used it as an illustration to guide you through the process.

6) Then you're done! Encode the file and copy it to your Meizu afterwards
I hope this helped a lot of people who's still trying to figure out the best way to encode videos with the proportions preserved.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postshmm.. it doesn't seem to be working for me. the converted video won't play on my m6. i'll try and see if other options would work.
by the way, you specified that the second one in Archos should be chosen. but your screenshot shows the THIRD one. i tried both and neither worked on my m6.

Lahat na naconvert ko na videos are working.. Pero kung ok lang po sa inyo na i-stretch ang video, gawin mo lang to:
For everyone who don't mind stretching the videos to fit in your Meizu, easier process comes into action. Just follow these steps:
1) Open your PocketDivX program
2) Load the video you want to convert
3) Load the settings provided
4) Click Resize

then click Maximize video

5) Then encode it!Last edited by sdyulolo; 05-04-2007 at 03:45 AM.

You're absolutely right! The procedures I posted are only for perfectionists like me. I like watching videos with no AV Synch or FF problem, and is proportioned to the original video. If there's something wrong about any one of these, i'll encode them again even if it takes a week or it doesn't stay in my meizu.
Resize option is found under Output Options (Avi File)
I'm still testing and debugging several methods for flawless encoding using PocketDivX, so guys.. stay tuned.Last edited by sdyulolo; 05-04-2007 at 03:40 AM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI tried to download and run PocketDivX from your link, and the text is all garbled, any idea why? I tried downloading a newer version from another source; it looks ok, but the videos won't play.

You mean the language isn't english? If the first instructions are no good then you might wanna try the 2nd one (the one where you have to stretch ur vidz to 320 x 240). If you have downloaded a newer version, I think it's ok but download the Profile Settings provided in this forum then load it from PocketDivX Encoder before encoding vid files
