Quick & Dirty One-Step DVD>M6 video conversion
I have added a profile for the M6 to CloneDVDMobile Devices.ini.
CloneDVDMobile is fast and simple to use, I can convert a 2 hour 24 minute DVD in 30 minutes and it is good to go. (Conversion time will vary depending on your PC specs). It also has easy settings to crop wide screen DVD to full screen M6.

Because CloneDVDMobile will not copy protected DVD's you need to run DVD43 in the background which will overcome the problem.
Sadly CloneDVDMobile is not freeware but it is well worth the $40 investment.
DVD43 Download http://download.copybase.ch/dvd43/DVD43_3-9-0_Setup.exe
You can download a trial version of CloneDVDMobile Here: http://static.slysoft.com/SetupCloneDVDmobile.exe
Once CloneDVDMobile is installed just copy the attached Devices.ini to CloneDVDMobile folder.
17\04\07: Updated settings, frame rate , volume to give a much smoother video and added M3 profile (Untested).

I also noticed that long movies 2+ hours do not have the Fast Forward problem that I was getting using VDub.

I already own Clone DVD Mobile and even without the recent update, this conversion method worked like a charm. I had a 2 hour wide screen video in near full screen format converted in about 45 minutes and it's about 400MB in size. Video quality is excellent. Great work.

Thanks for the custom device file. I haven't received my M6 yet, but I've already started experimenting and this program seems to make converting DVDs simple.
Looking at the device.ini file with notepad I notice you have gone with 16fps for Pal, wouldn't 15fps have a less noticeable motion artifact? What a pity the M6 can't cope with Pal 25fps. Does "Rotate=1" actually create a rotated picture? I've done some transcoding and media player plays the file unrotated.
Anyway, brilliant work, well done.

Thankyou, To be honest I can not notice any visible difference between 15 & 16 fps on the player. Unfortunatly the rotate command does nothing, i have a post in at the Slysoft forum regarding a way to impliment a rotate command but no reply. Which is a pity as it uses valuable resources when the player has to rotate the video. In my opinion 18-20 fps would play smoothly with the use of a rotate command.
I am currently testing with PocketDivxEncoder with excellent results at 20fps, not as fast as CloneDVDMobile but far more customizable with brightness, contrast, and saturation tweaks that improve the overall enjoyment of veiwing a movie on the small screen.

Can't wait for the PocketDivxEncoder and 20fps. 15fps is painful for me unless it's basic animation like Boondocks, South Park or Family Guy. I tried configuring your device.ini for 18fps and it actually has worse "jumping" than 15ps. So does the meizu do 20fps? Was it in the last firmware upgrade?

I (think I) tracked down your thread at http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=3559 and added a comment. Maybe if enough M6 owners add to the thread Slysoft will add a profile.
Cheers,
John
