I have converted movies and downloaded samples from the forums. Nothing seems to play on my m6. I have two of them and neither are working. One has stock firmware the other has been updated to the latest.
I see people are having this problem and some have had successful playback with public domain videos. Unfortunately those success videos do not work for me.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsPersonnaly i got no problem with converting/playing video on my m6.i use the converter provided with the cd and it works fine. Maybe the format of the video you are trying to convert arent supported by the converter??They are in which format the video you are trying to convert.??

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI'm using sample videos from this forum.
I am a linux user so that may have something to do with it. But my converting methods are the same of those in windows. Using mencoder i have successfully converted video that plays in VLC at the correct frame rate and resolution.
Error posted a sunscreen video that should technically work with the M6. My M6 doesn't work with it. I will try and transfer the data over a windows machine. I highly doubt the OS is at fault. But lets see.
Example video i converted my self would be HBO's Rome first season first episode(Xvid). I have used the sunscreen video provided by error. m6lotr.avi file that is supposed to work and is on here somewhere.
I have seen someone with my exact problem and they have posted replies to errors suncreen music video thread.
Please any feedback and help would be greatly appreciated. I would hate to have to return this wonderful item back to JTC

Turns out that files converted worked. Problem was the method of transfer in linux is different then windows. Transferring the same files in windows gave me video playback.
I will continue looking into this issue and find out whats actually happening.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsDrag and dropping files in linux is, I assume, is different then the command line.
When i drag and drop in whatever window manager.... a 200 meg file transfers quickly ... but when you use the command line 'cp' the file takes slightly longer to copy... then when you unmount the drive in the window manager it takes longer to "umount" from the command line..''
more investigation is needed.. but i learned that copying movies to the M6 via a window manager (kde gnome) in linux is different then doing it from command line or windows... more detail to come very soon...

Make sure the USB icon stops moving before disconnecting it. Data transfers still continue after the machine tells you it is done.
