    White Screen ... of annoyance

Alright so .I know for a fact I didn't drop or do anything bad to my m6, but I suddenly got a white screen when booting up.

My songs still play and I can still connect to my computer without any problems; but the only thing I see is a white screen.
I know I have updated my firmware to the latest about ~5 months ago.

Here is what I tried so far:
The basic "press enter until it resets" trick to no avail.
A full format by play/>> button.
Then a update of my SP firmware (yes my version is SP). I even saw that my screen automatically turned off when complete...
thus assuming I've installed/flashed correctly (in addition to the m6.ebn files "missing" in the root directory.

But the thing is...I still see white and correctly hearing the ticking sound when I use the touchbar.
I'm pretty sure my m6 works... as it connects to computer properly and even now (I put a test song in (b/c I formatted everything), and I'm now currently listening to it on my m6) I can still plays songs...but its just that I cant see anything, but white. (oh btw...the screen still dims on and off like normal)

    Can anyone help out?

EDIT: *wonders if I somehow put the brightness up to 100% if that were even possible* ....on second thought....is it possible?

Yes, but brightness only means how bright it is, it doesn't affect "Whiteness". Was your M6 subject to any physical abuse at all? It sounds like your screen's connector might have popped out slightly so the pixels can only display white.
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

Yeah that's what I surmised about the brightness problem too. ... but it was the perfect way to describe the problem I was having.

btw....are you suggesting I open up my meizu up then to reconnect the screen?

(...by the looks of it... I wont be able to do it so easily >.< )

It sounds like you having a bad screen connection somehow.

No it won't be easy and I would say it won't be good idea you open your player anyway.
I did it with mine no so long ago and that went just terrible.
Without touching anything I went up with huge touch pad and screen malfunctioning and I don't think I ever get my player working again.
Those small flex cables are really really sensitive to damage. I would say only do it as very last resort and you what you do.

do you think banging it in a certain direction would help?
...and if did open your M6...can you tell me which direction to keep banging at to maybe make the connection work again?

I doubt it. You would have to be very lucky then but i say give it a try.
If it is a very small wire or component that went bad I just don't see big changes. In my case I cannot even see or really know where my failure is located.
I made a few pics that might help you better understand the inside layout.

The cable that go from the screen bends twice before it reach the mainboard. If you say so I would face the usb and the mini jack in down direction.

EDIT: I read some old thread about the white screen. Pehaps there is a chance that you may just using a bad resource file.
You could try follow mbarry's guide Guide: Fixing your "Bricked" Player and use the DFU tool to copy a new fresh firmware over. Also worth a try before you do something stupid.

Use DFU Tools if you can't update normally, otherwise, try using the S2.003.2 firmware.

However if your computer cannot recognize your player, then you have to use DFU Tools. Just warning you because if a mistake is made during the DFU procedure, then your M6 will be bricked completely (most likely, sometimes you are able to recover it even though the DFU procedure was done incorrectly). Don't let this scare you though, DFU has always worked for me.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Hi,

I´ve the same problem with my m6 sl since a few weeks - just white screen with a small horizontal blue stripe. It still works. I can listen to the music, but it is allmost impossible to search some items of the menu - like browser or equaizer.
I did an new upgrad of firmware, but it didn´t help. I did format the player - nothing.
Did anyone else has the same problem like me and "neoknifes"?

    Thanx for helping
