Hello,
I don't know exactly what I did or when I did it but I seemed to have messed up my MiniPlayer. Here are the symptoms ...
- In my Mac iBook G4 Finder I can see the mp3 songs I placed in the Music folder but when I go to the M6 Music folder and open it there are no songs listed.
- I added a new folder with various mp3 files of speeches and sermons and see the folder in the Finder on my Mac, but there are no files that transferred. However, when I go to the M6 and look at the new Audio folder it opens up as an enormous fold, much larger than I ever put in. It has several sub-folders: Audio, Music, Playslists, etc., plus several blank folders, plus several folders that I cannot read because they're in Chinese Characters.
- When I have my MiniPlayer plugged into the computer and check the info on the MiniPlayer it shows that over 6 GB are filled but when I check my folders it shows I only have about 198 MB of info on the drive.
- I figured I'd just reset the MiniPlayer but when I tried nothing happened. I tried all the methods listed in the forum: (pressing and holding the >|| for 8 plus seconds; pressing and holding the >>| for 10 plus seconds, pressing and holding the >>| and the >|| together, and still nothing happens)
Thanks,
Cpt. Buff

The best you can do is
1. Save your data stored on the player
2. Find out the version of your currently installed firmware (in the menu under "settings/about")
3. Download and unpack this firmware version to your computer (you'll need the "resource.bin" later) - make sure it is for the SL model
4. Shutdown the player
5. Press and hold "Play" and "<<" together until you see a purple screen "low level formatting... please wait..."
the screen will turn black and a green screen "no resource... please update resource again..." will come up.
Now you can connect your M6 to the computer and copy the 'resource.bin' to your player.

I tried what you indicated a couple of times yesterday with no success. But this morning when I tried it again it worked!
I was able to format the MiniPlayer and I am in the process of reloading my MP3 files. I'm glad I keep backups on my computer hard drive.
Thanks a heap!
