    You have a problem with your XP... which is not capable of recognize your player... an MTP player show itself as a different device than an external disk how it is MSC, then you have to look into Microsoft for a solution of your problem

    Concerning MTP... it's a feature that makes your player work more integrated with the PC and all its capabilities relies on an appropriate use of ID3 tag... just don't accept when somebody told you to change to MSC, because it is to lose a powerful feature that can be used in benefit of the users when the user know how to deal with it.

    All depends on how the program in the PC work with MTP. I can mention WMP10 and above, which despite of how complicate is its managing of ID3, works fine with Meizu players, also MediaMonkey and J.River Media Center works fine with such feature.

    Just consider MTP as a feature that gives more value to a Meizu player. If the user don't know how to use it that not means that is a bad feature.

    Going a bit further... one of the great features of expensive players like iPod, Cowon and iRiver, is its managing of files, cover art and lyrics inside the player. Most of this capabilities relies on MTP and appropriate managing of ID3... why a user have to left this capabilities outside of his Meizu player?

    Well, I manage my files pretty good enough in my oppinion, and I also have cover art for all my songs on my player and some lyrics that I've made or downloaded as well... No MTP used, and I haven't really been doing extra work that MTP mode would've done for me properly I think. In my oppinion, if one's clean enough, MTP doesn't really give any plus, if not minus. Just my oppinion.

    Try Winamp.
    If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

    I've written down my way of doing it in some previous topic on the forums and there are many topics saying different ways of doing it.

    A quick list of them is
    Albums\albumname.jpg

    Albums\albumname|artistname.jpg
    (No | sign to be written there, just wrote here to make it better readable, it's in one part othervise. MTP players use this way.)

    Music\Artist\Album\albumname.jpg

    The file names have to be the same as the artist or album tags inside of your music files PRECISELY. Except for the case (you may write MachineStatic-x.jpg and machinestatic-x.jpg both.)

    Sure, I'm not the person you asked but since I feel that I have a pretty easy solution, I thought I'd share.

    This is a solution for those using mediamonkey when syncing with the player.

    I use this for syncing my songs:
    \MUSIC\$if(<Genre>=Komedi,_Komedi,$if(<Artist>,$if (<Artist@1>=0-9,#,<Artist:1>),Unknown))\$if(<Artist>,<Artist> - <Title>,<Filename>)

    Creates alphabetical folder (A,B,C...) and puts all songs from any artist on that letter in it. (I've also added so that all with genre 'Komedi' (swedish; comedy) is put into a different folder called '_Komedi')
    Here is it again without the Komedi-part, but i haven't checked it so not sure if I removed correct parenthesis (But with this in use album art for genre Komedi won't work)
    \MUSIC\,$if(<Artist>,$if(<Artist@1>=0-9,#,<Artist:1>),Unknown)\$if(<Artist>,<Artist> - <Title>,<Filename>)

    I then use the MeizuAlbumArt-script which I've made from the Album Art Tagger on this page http://trixmoto.net/mm/scripts.php?id=1

    I just mark all files in my synchronized-playlist and start the script... Done...
    But you will have to go into the MeizuAlbumArt-script and change the players directory. I think it is set on K: at the moment...

    I have some 'tweaks' that others may find annoying. I'll list those I remember.
    All songs with genre Komedi in separate Directory '_Komedi'
    All songs with Artist that begins with a number (for example 2pac) in separate Directory '#'
    When album name exceeds 30 characters, 2 album-art versions are made (were some problems with with id3-versions earlier, haven't bothered to check if these are still present)
    ------------------------------------------------

    Using the above method you will get arranged like this:

    /MUSIC/D/Daft Punk - High Life.mp3
    /MUSIC/D/Discovery.jpg
    Attached Files
