Unknown artists

hi everybody~ i have purchased a miniplayer SL a few days back, and some problems i have...

i tried to use many mp3 rippers but found that itune actually has the best database for song names and stuff, so i used it to rip a few cds. and the problem came when i placed those ripped mp3 into the music folder of the m6sl, i disconnected it from the pc, updated the music lib.(which took ages), and when i try and find those newly ripped songs, they were placed in the unknown artist folder when i am 100% there are artists name and ablum name with the songs.

I have updated my firmware to the newest version, but that didnt help one bit.

Your problem is bad TAG that your files has.

I suggest you to use a normal MP3 TAGGER doesn't matter what ripper you did use. iTunes is a specialized tool for iPod machines (in fact, 90 % of ability of iPod for manage its libraries relies in iTunes) but iTunes is just that: a ripper for iPods. No idea what TAG levels it has and it doesn't matter it makes iPOd works fine, but not so your Meizu player.

Pick a free tagger from here and correct all the tags directly in the player if you wish, then do a Update Music Library from Music menu.

Be patient but working with mp3tag you will solve most of your problems.

hi there, thanks very much for your reply,funny enough, i have just figured out the way to do it last night~~(in hong kong that is XD)

The way i did it is pretty much what you said. I ripped the cd off itunes cuz its got the most complete library i have ever seen. then i have to open up MP3tag, drag the music across to the program, then highlight everything and just press SAVE. and its done! so basically its just updating the tag thingy (something like v2.23) cuz the itunes uses v2.22, you need not to alter anything in mp3tag, all you do in drag is across and save it.
