I do not think anyone is willing to risk a stranger visiting them. In addition, you have posted this thread in the incorrect location, also describe your problem thoroughly so that members may assist you better.

Your player has its firmware working, but it cannot find the images, text and all because all of them are stored in resource.bin. Thus it displays a green screen with just one phrase.
So to solve this you must connect the player to your PC, transfer the resource.bin file (the one provided with your firmware) and turn the player on again.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsYou just drop the resource.bin file into the root folder when you connect it to your pc. Then just disconnect it and restart your M6.

no need for DFU tools in your case anymore.
Just re-copy paste the firmware into the player directely and disconnect the player.
the player will restart, update the resource and should function properly again.
No need to drive

newayz, i got the miniplayer to work but unfortunately the touch pad goes crazy. the M button does not react well. If i want to go back to the previous, i cant. plus I think the usb port on my miniplayer is lose because i have to hold the usb cable in a certain angle to connect to my computer. Is there a way that i can open up the miniplayer so that i can solder it?
1. how to fix the M button?
2. How to fix the usb port on my miniplayer?
Thanks in advance
P.S i uploaded the 1.09 firmware. is it worth for me to upgrade it to the 2.0 firmware?Last edited by jjnnycc; 03-01-2007 at 04:28 AM.

did you try calibrating the strip?
While playing music press and hold M for a second.
anew screen will appear
slide your finger up and down the strip to see if it functions correctly.
If it does the little square on screen should light up green.
Press Enter to calibrate the strip.
Then press M to get back to your song.
if your touchpad and usb port are really broken and you don't have any warranty on it you could consider opening it up but only if you know what you're doing hehe

i purchased the miniplayer in October 2006, so i think i still have warranty. the touch strip seems to work fine, its just when i press the M button that malfunctions. The M button won't allow me to go to the previous screen. When i press the M button ,the mini player either blacks out for a split second or the volume goes up.

in that case ... don't touch it yourself and get it fixed or replaced by the store that sold it to you... if you open it you void your warranty
unless of course you cant resist the urge to see what it looks like inside
in that case this might be of your interest

well i purchased the miniplayer from www.miniplayer.info based in Chicago. I emailed them but they never responded back to me. I think they also took down the forum off their website but u can still access it by typing in forum on the url.

yeah I have read more complaints about miniplayer.info (check the marketplace section on them)
They changed owners and it seems ever sice its been a shady thing..
I dont have any personal experience with them though so what i say is just based on what i read from everyone who posted their complaints there
If miniplayer.info wont help you try contacting Dane Elec directely, they might be able to help you further as its them who give the warranty on the player
you can reachthem at: techsupport@dane-memory.com
hope that helps!

it depends if you want to wait for it to be sold by an US based estore. Im betting for HOD to get them in stock.
Internet has an answer for every question out there, not likely to be always the answer you're looking for.

hey Job, since i just fixed the miniplayer with firmware 1.09, should i install the latest firmware or wait awhile and then update it?
plus, is updating the firmware the same way as putting the resource bin in the root directory and resetting the player?
Thanks.

you can install the new firmware if you like.
2.001 is a bit buggy though so if you want to be sure you get a stable player you might want to wait for the final release of firmware 2.001
You could however update to 1.010. Personally I found 1.010 to be better then 1.009
Be sure to use the right version. As you bought your player in October 2006 its probably an SP so you need the S firmware. Check to be sure though
Updating firmware is indeed the same as reinstalling an old firmware.
Download the new firmware, unzip it, copy paste the 2 files into the root directory of your player and restart your player.
Your player will now update its firmware and should functional normally again after that
@marcello: end 2007 is the estimated Chinese release date for the M8 MiniOne right?
