    Major DFU Problems!!

    Hi, Everyone.

I have a typical problem from the FAQ (yes, I read it.)

miniPlayer's Screen Is Black, But You Can Hear Clicks When Moving Your Finger Over the Touch Pad

I've went through all the step but still can't get this to work.

Problem 1) Whenever I connect my m6 to the USB windows automatically recognizes it as a drive (I have the on/off and the m buttons pressed). When I start DFU the device field is blank and the download button isn't highlighted.

Problem 2) I thought I could work around this by going to the device manager and selecting "update driver", this gives you the hardware update wizard stated in the standard tutorial. Everything seems to be going ok until the last step at which point i get the following error:

Cannot Continue the Hardware Update Wizard

The wizard could not find a better match for your hardware that the software you currently have installed.

WTF? Please does anyone know how to fix this? I miss my meizu! Thanks.

Read the FAQ, bottom of the page.

    Edit: Whoops... I must've read too fast. Follow Glacier's advice ^_^;

hi, it seems you did read the FAQ but didn't take the time to understand it. under the section of the FAQ that you quoted it says:
miniPlayer's Screen Is Black, But You Can Hear Clicks When Moving Your Finger Over the Touch Pad:

Hearing the click means your miniPlayer is working, you must try a Reset or in worst cases a Hard Reset to get it working again.
reset and hard reset are not the same as using the DFU tools. instructions on how to reset and hard reset can be found near the top of the FAQ.

since you say that your player is automatically recognized as a drive when connected to your computer, dfu tools is not needed. dfu tools is only used as a LAST RESORT. that is, if your computer no longer recognizes the player as a drive.

Thanks for the quick reply guys. I tried doing the reset and hard-reset as stated in the FAQ before even attempting the DFU route. Nothing happened....just the same black screen and the audible clicking noises. Any other suggestions?

keep trying reset and hard reset (longer than 15 seconds each time). Will see you're gonna be able to get it working again soon :D
Internet has an answer for every question out there, not likely to be always the answer you're looking for.

there have been some instances when users reported pressing buttons for more than 1 minute when performing resets and hard resets. perhaps you could try that as well. and also, make sure that you keep the player charged to ensure proper operation. good luck.
