frozen m6 sp, will not turn on, will not charge

    Hey guys,

I know there are alot of threads about the m6 not being able to get past the loading screen, the green screen, or won't shut off, but my problem seems a bit different. But forgive me if i seem to be rpeating someone else's problem.

After updating the firmware to V2, i was able to play music (with album art) and watch video. But for some reason, when i went into my playlist, the player froze. So i let the battery drain since there was no other way i could get it to work (including reset, and what not). But now that the battery seems thoroughly drained, the player won't come on even when plugged into the computer. it can't be recognized because it won't turn on. And it won't even show th battery icon when normally charging. I really don't have any option right now. so any suggestion would be much, much appreciated.

    Try it with these steps:
    Quote:
    Reset the Player:

Press and hold the Enter button for about 10 seconds or until screen flashes. miniPlayer will shut down automatically. You can proceed to turn the player on again.

    Perform a Hard Reset:

Press and hold the ON/OFF and the “>>|” buttons together and until player turns OFF itself. All data will be lost.

    Perform a Memory Cleanup:

Press and hold the ON/OFF and the “|<<” buttons together and until player turns OFF itself. You will need to load firmware files before this.
Please read FAQ, as if the above procedures don't solve the problem you must recover your player using DFU tools, yesterday I had a problem almost like yours and I had to recover my player and now everything is OK.
I have a suggestion, wait until the last firmware version to be released, downgrade to old version, as Err0r said "it is not known whether this is the final release, but unexperienced users are officially advised to wait for a new version before upgrading".
    Good luck.

    try charging the player.
even it might not show any sign of life as its just too empty to do so..
connect it to the USB port for a while and it will probably pop back on
I had a similar problem before

after that tr a hard reset or format or DFU tools

i have a similar problem, except i havent updated my firmware and am still running the 1.010 version. i've tried doing all the resets and i dont even get a flash on the screen when i hold the m and play/power button. my computer does detect it because it gives the notification noise when i plug it in, but nothing else shows up.

i've tried running the DFU tool, but windows doesnt recognize the player even when im holding the M and P/P buttons down. any suggestions?

also im pretty sure its now turned off as the screen is blank and theres no audio coming out. also it crashed with almost full battery so im pretty sure i dont need to charge it

nm im getting close to getting the dfu tools to work

    yay its working now

    Revived M6

Man thanks Jagull, I was about to call it quits until I read your post and tried holding enter for 10 secs. After that I plugged it into usb and sawa screen flash. Then the loading screen came up.

10 seconds of enter saved many hours of frustration.
