Hi. I just got my Meizu M6 SL, and stupidly I just assumed it would work with my Macbbok when I ordered it. However, now I've got some problems.
When I connect my Meizu, turned on, to the USBport it simply wont connect to the computer. The turning arrows appear on the Meizu screen but the computer doesn't seem to realize it's connected, and no icon appears on the computer screen, making it impossible to transfer files.
I've read on this forum than other people have this problem as well, but also that some Macbook users seem to have no problems with their Meizu. Does anyone know why this is, and what to do about it? I use OS 10.5.4, could that be the problem? Because I tried connecting the Meizu to my mothers iMac with OS 10.4.11 and that worked. But I would really like to use my Meizu with the Macbook so I'm thankfull for any help!

Welcome to the forum Lisa. Have you considered Dual-Booting XP on your Mac? It works pretty well if you have XP on your Mac. If not, search around the forum. I believe there is a program for Macs to be able to connect to Meizu's. Are you sure your Meizu is set to MSC mode?
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

It connected to the other computer, but the option may have been changed while tinkering in the options. It should just be recognized as a flash drive which you can copy your mp3's to.

Or Apple might have decided to drop support for Apple iPod "Knockoffs".

Is there some sort of compatibility function on MACs? I know there are compatibility functions for Windows, say if you are running DOS game, you can run in 98 Compatibility mode. Maybe there is something like that to make your OSX 5.3 work in compatibility mode with 5.2. Or have you considered rinning Windows XP on your MAC? They say XP works better on MACs then it does on PCs.

Eek.
Hey!
First post - nice to meet you all!
I have the same problem as the first poster... I have a Macbook with the newest version of OS X; I don't know if the firmware for my Meizu is the newest one. I plugged the player in, thinking everything would be okay, BUT! no. Obviously, no.
So, not only am I unable to put any music in it, it seems as if all my previous music was deleted from the player. (Everytime I plug it into my Macbook, the screen says it is connected, but my laptop does not pick it up. Also, for some reason, after I plug it out, my Meizu starts to update the music library and I see it going through all my songs, but I can't access them after that. Sucks!)
I also can't switch between the MSC mode and the MTP mode... and because my computer doesn't acknowledge its existence, I can't download the newest firmware to get the two modes back.
So, how can I get my old music back? And! has anyone heard any news about this? I tried to look around, but didn't succeed. Also, iTuneMyWalkMan, or whatever the name of the programme is, didn't find my Meizu either. Nor did Windows Media Player for Mac. And no, I don't have XP on this laptop.
Thanks for any help, guys! Also, sorry if there was something about this already. I honestly tried to look, but didn't find anything anywhere.

Welcome to Meizu Me!
Maybe this can help you to solve the problem.
The music will be back if you reload the "resource.bin" to your player.
For both problems you'll need a Windows PC to fix them.

You can try switching to MSC in the Settings menu of your player. Hope this helps.

Are you sure you waited for the Update music library to finish? If so, then you might have corrupt firmware after plugging it into your Mac. My reasoning behind this is you probably had your player set to MTP, and the Mac tried to screw around with it. I guess your best bet is to download the S2.003.2 firmware, which is very stable, and put it on a flash drive. Go to a Staples, Best Buy, etc. and find a PC. Update the firmware using that PC. You should be set. Or If you have a Windows Machine, use that to update your firmware to S.2003.2. This is assuming you have a SP player. Check on the back of your player for the serial number, or s/n. If it says M6slxxxxxxxxxx, then get SL firmware, if it says M6spxxxxxxxxxxxxx, then get SP firmware (S.2003.2), if you have M6tpxxxxxxxxxxxx get the TP firmware, etc. Hope this helps and welcome to the forums!
