my m6 not connecting to my computer

I don't know if it's a hardware or a software problem but my meizu can't connect with my computer. It gives no messages that it's connected nor the computer sees it. Any ideas what to do? Hard reset? (Don't want to do that cuz if it cant connect after that I'll have no music )

PS. Normal reset is not working - tellms me touch error and asks to calibrate

Normal reset is done by hold FR for a bit. I think enter was for pre-1.xx.xx.xx firmware. You may want to try changing the USB mode on your M6, it may fix your problem.

i've been having trouble with my daughters computer and player, it's a creative zen v plus. the player connects fine to my computer (finds and stays connected) the player installs as an mtp device then drops connection. device manager reports error 10, i've removed the player and usb ports (again in device manager) and windows reinstalls all but still has the same problem. the player charges but won't stay connected on that particular computer. the problem MIGHT be sp3 which doesn't like usb version 1.1. i'm upgrading via a pci card to usb 2. other than that i might reformat and reinstall but only go as far as sp2.

norbar have you tried to connect it to another computer yet?

Really? I hadn't noticed. Anyways, it's still always best to follow the old saying:

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Oh yes and you may want to recommend Meebo or Trillian to your daughter, they work with several IM services and one's (Meebo) web based.

Changed the usb mode and nothing helped.

When I change the Usb port of the cable it flashes it' connected for a while (3-5sec) and then goes back to normal unconnected. Any ideas what to do?

Did the hard reset. It's also not charging itself. I'll try to look for another cable.

Did it just happen all of a sudden, or did it work the "other day"?

the above problem i had ( on my daughters computer) was traced to a driver used for another usb device, i right clicked it in device manager, properties, driver tab and saw the wrong driver used. this may help someone who's device won't stay connected.

Someone went messing around in a Windows 98 USB driver CD... Even the Meizu players have one.
