To clarify, DFU Tools doesn't work with XP?

My daughter's M6 SL is about a month old and she got the infamous white screen. All of the posts that I'm seeing about white screen suggest running DFU Tools, which I attempted. Then when that didn't work, I read further and saw in another thread that that driver doesn't work with XP. Is that right? So, am I pretty much screwed then?

Also, I see references to moving M6.EBN to the DFU folder prior to running DFU Tools. Where's the M6.EBN file?

    Thanks.

Driver doesn't work in 64-bit XP, since all drivers for 64-bit XP and Vista need to be digitally signed by Microsoft. If you're running 32-bit XP, you're free to proceed.

That is correct. However, I do know that DFU can work in XP, because I have used DFU on my XP Machine a couple of times, and nothing bad has happened. The reason that DFU isn't working for you is because you have to first download Firmware files from Meizu's website, Webserver Technotop Internetdiensten. That is where the M6.ebn file comes from. Make sure you firmly hold the Power and M buttons firmly and DO NOT let go of them. Follow the instructions for DFU, and you should be set. If you want instructions, I can write you some, just PM me. Also Make absoloutly sure that you download the correct firmware for your player. Do not download SL firmware if you have a SP player. The version can be found on the back of your player. Hope this helps.

By the way, Welcome to Meizu Me.
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

Thanks. Now here's another noob question. How do I know whether my XP is 32 or 64 bit? I'm looking at system info and all I'm finding is Windows XP Professional. It's also the Media Center version.

The first thing I did was download the firmware and didn't have any problems until a few days ago. Also, I have the exact same one and have had no problems with it.

    Thanks so much!

It's 32-bit. Media Center Edition doesn't have the option of 64-bit.
