My m6 really dead...
Hi,
have look through quite a few threads about dead m6 SP before i posted this thread.
My m6 just shuts down one day and unable to detect using the usb to pc.
Tried to all the reseting provided. None work for me.
As the pc cannot detect my m6, i was unable to use the dfu.
Is my m6 really dead? Hopefully can get some final answer before i change a new mp3/4.
Thank you and any reply is appreciated.

Perform a Hard Reset:
Press and hold the ON/OFF and the >>| buttons together and until player turns OFF itself. All data will be lost.
Perform a Memory Cleanup:
Press and hold the ON/OFF and the |<< buttons together and until player turns OFF itself. You will need to load firmware files before this.
Try holding the button in sequence >>| and after power or |<< and power after.
Tell me how it ends up.

try pressing in sequence the buttons meaning first press >>| do not release after that press power and so for the other one, try half a minute if it does not start then it is dead, I observed they really have a slow response time from press to actual action on the powering on and off, and soimetimes even grater in some problems. Once i had my m6 stuck so before formating it i decided to press the power on and after a few good seconds 20-30 it just started.

Just out of curiosity ... did you try to charge your player? Just connect it to your PC and wait 2-3 hours, disconnect it and then try to turn it on again.

Hi,
I did try to charge the player for half of the day but it does not work for me. I had tried RR_PRIME method... Still no response. Will send for service today.

Maybe you can help me. My M6 also looked like its battery is empty. It refused to get charged (tried with different cables and a usb charger).
So it just loaded and shut down once it reached the main menu.
Hard reset resulted the same thing. Memory cleanup killed it completely and now I don't have any response at all.
You write I needed firmware files before doing the memory cleanup, but how could I put firmware files if I wasn't able to get my PC to recognize it as a device? It kept shutting down after turning on with or without the USB cable plugged it.

Make sure that you are firmly pressing both the Power and M buttons. Then plug it in, but be very careful to not let go of either of the buttons. If that does not work, send it back for a replacement, or if you are out of warranty, try wrapping it in a paper towl, and bang it on something solid a couple of times. Do not bang it on the screen, or the back, because that would either result in dents or a broken screen. Bang it on one of the 4 sides, preferably the left side as there are no buttons or ports there. Good luck!

I had the No Resource error, and couldn't install DFU tools, due to driver problems (Windows couldn't find the driver even thoug I installed it with the inf file). However, I upgraded normally the firmware, with one exception. I deleted everything from the M6, before I copied the firmware files on it. It works now, I hope it won't loose data regularly.

Are you joking?!?! The M6 is supposed yo be way cheaper than Apple's products. The whole point was to attract a possible Nano buyer, but if your paying $60 more for a Meizu, I don't see the logic in that. I only paid like $100, and you can find them for $60 now in the U.S.

If you had the No Resource ! error, just drag and drop the Resource.bin file into your player. That's all it needs, not a dump of it's contents and a firmware replacement.
