    Help Dead New Player

    Hello everyone,
so I just bought a new m6sl version 5 days ago and everything was working fine until about 20 minutes ago where I dropped my player into a sink with
running water. I quickly took it out and dried it. I turned it back on and it worked again. Then I turned it off and a hissing sound came from the player.
It wouldn't turn on again. Then after sucking the water out of the headphone jack/ usb and some more crazy events, I turned it on, then it said Formatting player and turned back off. When I turned it on again it said

NO RESOURCE PLEASE UPGRADE RESOURCE AGAIN it green background with a dark green line above and a lighter green line below. Then it turns black screen.

I turn it off and now Im stuck with a dead player 5 days new.

PLEASE HELP ME, IM LOSING TIME (have too fill out a rebate before 20 days)

Format the player: Press and hold the ON/OFF and the “|<<” buttons together and until player turns OFF itself.
Turn it on, and when it says, connect it.
Copy M6.EBN, Resource.bin files to the player.
Turn off, on. The player turns OFF itself.
Turn it on, and if it says, connect it, copy the resource.bin to the player again.
If it won't work, try DFU..

I know it's too late, but you shouldn't have turned it on until like 2-3 days to make sure it's dried properly...

Anyway if it says "No Resource" then just copy the resource.bin file to the root directory of the player and restart it.

Where do I get the resource.bin from? and where is the source folder to copy it too?

Another question, my player seems to turn on only when it wants to
like when I hold enter for seconds it would turn on like a minute after I let go.

Also, would you guys think that I should exchange my dane elec player
because i am only 6 days into the 30 day guarantee. However, I need the UPC code for the rebate (and the exchange) so I am now totally lost.

Warranties don't cover abuse, which this is considered as. Meizu repairs them for pretty cheap though.

    Bad news...
So where do I get this resource.bin from and where do I copy it to.

My player is currently drying next to a window crack.

See the files attached at the end of http://www.meizume.com/firmware/5466-2-004-6-official-release-sp-tp-sl.html. You want the last one (the one with "SL" in the name).

First let your player dry really well, for at least a day. Then do what teebeeykk said above.

Don't even think about a warranty - this was your fault, not the manufacturer's, don't you agree?

so does the firmware have to match what it came with,
specifically 2.004.4 or do u recommend the new one, 2004.6,?

    thx

currently letting it air dry on a chair outside...

I think you will like the new one, and there is no reason not to be up-to-date.

Worse News, After I Copied The M6.ebn To The Player And Turned It Off, I Receive A Black Screen With A Grey Bar In The Center When I Turned It On Again. So I formatted it and used instead of the copying .ebn , i copied the resource.bin on to the player, it turned on but now it seems to have a differennt UI (dane elec symbol gone) and THE TOUCH PAD IS
UNRESPONSIVE, could this be a software problem or a hardware problem?

    HELP!!!

    WHAT do I do now?

    will do that blackstar,
but how am i suppose to fix my player? I formatted it and only applied the resource.bin and now the TOUCHPAD DONT WORK,
i dont think a little water ( only a few drops) could have corroded/ruin the touchpad,
could it be that the touch pad is not stable because i "SUCKED" on the headphone jack and usb jack (make it loose) to get the water out.

and where could i get it fixed (costs time, etc)/ or should i just pop it open?
    thx

Try updating the firmware again because if you have only copied the resource.bin it won't work properly!
Read the FAQ about the firmware update and do as it says.
    Good luck!

Ok, I think you're using a "resource.bin" from a version that does not fit your firmware. you need to either:

    1. Use the right resource.bin for the firmware version you have (2.004.4 Dane-Elec you said). Search on the forums for the right one, if you can find it. It may not be easy to find, but it's safer to try.

    OR

    2. *Really* update your firmware. It sounds like you didn't finish the update properly. Make sure you read the FAQ (http://www.meizume.com/faq.php). I think you were impatient and stopped the player before it finished updating - don't do it again, you can damage it that way. Read the FAQ: "6. Let it work and wait for player to turn itself OFF." After you do all the steps in the FAQ, you may need to copy the resource.bin to it again.

I recommend trying option nr 2. Good luck!

    didn't work.
I followed the faqs exactly. first (after low level formatting), i dragged both the .ebn and the resource (tried 2.004.6 and 2.004.4, is dane elec firmware different?) in the player. Unplugged, turn off, then turn on. A GRAY BAR was in the center of the black screen (probably the updating screen), then It turn off after a few seconds. After turning it back on, i waitted and then it seemed like it worked, but the only(and BIGGEST) problem was that
THE TOUCHPAD IS UNRESPONSIVE. is this a hardware/software problem and should i pop it open or something (btw im 17 so i have no idea how to fix things). This is the forth day after contact with little water, so i think its dry.
    Thx
I'm completely confused?? my birthday present is now ruined (

btw. i also tried the other method in en.meizu.com, where i just put the
.ebn file in alone first (but after I do that the player is hard to turn on and wont connect to the cpu, so i formatted)

Any way you look at it, your touchpad is FRIED. It doesn't matter that it's dry now - you turned it on while it was still wet and that killed it. Go get a replacement.

It is possible that your motherboard is not cooperating with your touchpad. I have seen these kinds of problems when electronics get wet such as iPods.

tell them that it was my fault (still relatively new, will they notice?)

Sometime you can tell the motherboard will have this stuff on it. Or the Meizu might have a water sticker on it somewhere. You could try, I don't think it would hurt. But if they won't repair it, you can send it to Meizu. There repair services are VERY cheap.
