Ok, my player was working fine a week ago. No problems since I bought it almost a year ago, M6 SP, by the way.
A few days ago I ripped a new cd as flac files and loaded them on to the player and went through the whole music library update, which a completely full play only took about 3 minutes total, not bad at all, not as bad as some people I've read on here who have 15 minute waits. And the player started updating fine and then it got to the newly added flac files and it paused. Wouldn't get past them and they were the last files to be updated.
So I do a soft shutdown and turn it back on and now I get stuck in an endless turn on, gets stuck updating, turn off, turn back on, stuck updating loop So I come to these boards and find you can bypass the update and I try the various methods and the only method that worked for me was to continuously hit the "M" button until it goes into the main menu, which eventually happened.
When I got to the main menu, it stated I had no music files, but I went to the file browser and there they are and when plugging in the USB cord, windows sees the files as being on the player, as well.
So, today, I have a player that:- has the latest firmware,
- a player that takes forever at the loading screen but eventually gets to the menu, but will never recognize files
- is in another language and the method to fix it in the FAQ section doesn't work
- it pauses at the shutdown
- soft reset and hard resets and formats as well do not work as it pauses at the shutdown screen
- has a completely empty player, but windows still shows that 800 megs of something are taking up space on it.
Help a fellow Meizu enthusiast keep his enthusiasm.

Once you get into the main menu, try manually updating by going to Main Menu -> Music -> Update Music Library. If updating doesn't work, try re-encoding using Windows Media Player on one other than the one you use. Hope This Helps.
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.
Players: Meizu M6 SP 4GB, iPod Touch 4G
Headphones: SoundMAGIC PL-50s, Auvio In-Ear Armatures, Bose QC-15s.
Current Audio Congifuration: X-Fi Elite Pro w/LM4562 Mod -> Mission MS-50 + Boston Acoustics Subwoofer

Rip the CD again with Windows Media Player or something similar. Then put it back on your meizu and see if it works

What happens If you charge it?
If nothing else helps, try DFU tools.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWell, I tried DFU tools. But how do you hold down power and M and wait for it to turn on if the player won't turn on?

Focusing your problem: your FLAC files aren't accepted by your player... that's for sure... so remove them from your M6. Then do all the attempts to recover the player as our colleagues as said.
While you keep those files in your player it won't work. Later you can investigate if this FLAC files are similar to others you have played.
What have produced problems to me with FLAC files are when it has embedded cover art.
Some encoders adds cover art to FLAC and works in PC players but it won't in your M6.
The reason for your player get blocked are the FLAC files, but you don't need to change FLAC for other encoders if your don't want... the trick is to find the right FLAC encoding.
