Other filesystems compatibility?

Hello!

I've been using my Meizu M6 for a while, and I love it!

The only problem I experience is the following:

I am an Ubuntu Linux user, and therefore my filesystem is Ext3, so my filenames can includes characters such as ": ! ?". THe problem is when I try to send those files to my Meizu, I have a "invalid file name" error... If my Meizu was using Ext3 filesystem, I wouldn't have such a problem...

Do you know if it is possible to format it using Ext3 system, then install it properly (ith a given firmware)?

Thanks in advance!

! is valid in FAT too.
No, I think the M6 doesn't support that. You should run over a filename converter on your music collection to replace : and ? characters

Agree with Speeder that you need to rename your files. Thunar, the xfce file manager is a good tool for mass renaming files.

Hm, ok... that's a pity, though, don't you think?

Anyway, I'll probably do that

Well, I've not thought of this much yet. I think that I'm okayish without ":" and "?" and "/" in my song file names
I use a proggy named Tag&Rename (Windows) to*name files from tag names and*set up character changing so*these characters would*be named*alright.

I use Amarok to put files on my M6 using the tags in the music files. Amarok automatically converts ä to ae and ö to oe, so you get for example "Bjoerk" instead of "Björk". Pretty cool.

parena, cool! I didn't know Amarok did that. I'm currently using Rhythmbox, dunno if it does it... I'll check it out, and maybe try to make a little Python script/plugin if it doesn't!
