The sound quality is very good, nearly excellent. But before I tell you everything you just should use the search-button. And maybe try google->meizu review OR test.

Sound Quality is great

The Meizu M6 SL is one of the best sounding DAPs around.... good enough that people spend way more than the price of the M6 on headphones to go with it, because it can drive them well enough...

The best player in the world sounds bad out of crappy phones.

There is more to distinguish one player from another in the m6s category, other than sound quality... formats of audio files supported, whether or not it has a feature you might want, whether or not the device is powerful enough to drive the phones you want to drive with it... or if you hate the interface or not.

Video is a substandard 20 frames per second. No bookmarks for audiobooks... which is just... stupid. That bugs me.

Support blows goats, but the user community is good, from what I can tell.. if a little impatient, and maybe a bit bitter...

The sound is really good. Even with the supplied headphones. I have an M6SL and its fabulous. Sounds a little bad when using the headphone as a line out to a hi-fi though, not enough power, but with earphones or headphones its great. Dynamic range reproduction is great and you can fiddle with the EQ to get more or less of all the range as it suits the music and your tastes. A lot of DAPs only have presets.

The sound quality on Meizus are fabulous. The headphones that come with them are not some generic, run of the mill cheapos. They are quite good quality. The ONLY reason I switched from them is because they hurt my ears, but all ear buds do that to me. (JVC Marshmallows are the solution). I completely agree with nlao. The ability to adjust the EQ is a definite plus. I hate presets! LOL

In regards to frownking that said video is substandard. The converter that came with it does indeed have issues. However, there are a lot of great converters out there that make the video quality excellent. I've tried the Meizu converter, Badak, Batman, and I don't know how many others. Batman more than gets the job done. Playback is smooth and audio is in sync. Plus it's easy to use.

This board might seem impatient, but I can completely understand that. No one bothers to read anymore, they just start a new thread. Never mind that the previous twenty threads are the same question. I have NEVER seen anyone on this board refuse to help when it is an honest to goodness question that cannot be answered by doing a search or looking in FAQ.

The Meizu headphones are crap (PT 850 or so). Their sq is abysmal, but the M6 sq is brilliant and superior to every dap I tested yet (which were not many, though).

I have compared with other mp3 players like iriver T series or H320 and meizu sq is better in comparison with iriver t series if you like natural sound (no 3D SRS,while SRS off on iriver)Meizu EQ is more sensitive, and with bass boost+EQ you can get close to your taste. I found meizu earphones shit, similar to iriver earbuds. Meizu sounds very good with shure earphones or other earphones. if you want more sound output power, get Cowon D2, i mean Meizu is not ideal for heaphones (15mw x2,16ohm) however you can use additional amplifer to boost volume.
