Can't Format M6SL

So I had a "little" problem here. I kinda solved it with DFU tools but now I have the latest firmware 2004.6 on It and, what is really strange shows that I have 5.7GB free instead of 7.58 (I have the 8GB one). So, I tried formatting it, but it formats strange. I copied the firmware on before (like it's said in the FAQ) and then held |<< (backward) + >|| (ON/OFF/Play) buttons. It just turned it self off and when I turned it back on it showed me the 5.7gig free space. So I tried again, this time I didn't copy the resource file so it would show, that there is no firmware on the player, but it didn't, so i think it doesn't do a format when I tell him too. What to do? Please help. I need to go on a trip but with out my music i will, so to speak, die.
