I seem to recall someone else having this problem in Vista, from memory the fix was to select "install driver from specific location" and use the path Windows\System32 or Windows\System32\drivers (cant quite remember which). You may have to do this a few times but eventually it will find the driver and install it.

Windows\System32 is the good path

For all USB Mass Storage you have this problem in Vista ...

I'm running Vista x64 and I have never ever experienced any problems with any USB mass storage. Hard disks, Flash sticks, Miniplayer, mobile phones ... it is really that simple: Plug and play. No drivers or installation needed.

--> Try another USB cable!

I'd blame human error on this one than construction error. At least it would seems so from the info posted

I set the meizu to the appropriate mode mtc or mtp forgot which. Then plug into pc using usb :X

I am using vista 64 bit ultimate and it works just fine ....

If your Meizu cannot start properly, then try to format it by pressing the correct buttons to trigger a hard format.

Then when you reboot it should work. Make sure it is using the correct mode for usb before you plug in. The meizu needs to be turned on before you plug in, otherwise it will only recharge ........
