Charger for Meizu ?
I recently purchased an Energizer charger for cell phones with the cable
end is the usb connector. So here's my question, can I use this to charge
my M6 while I'm away from home? It is powered by 2 AA batteries.
Thanks WT

Whats the output of the charger? It should provide at least 400mA.

Is it possible to create a charger from an old powersupply for mobile phones etc? If so, what is needed? Let's say the voltage is right, then does the A have to be exactly the right number or is it only neccesary to get at least 400 mA?

Yes, you will need at least 400mA. If your charger can provide more, that will be fine (but useless). And it has to provide 5V. Not more, not less.

This is great and interesting! So just to be sure - any ac/dc converter for mobile phones etc will do, AS LONG AS:
1. It outputs 5 volts
2. Nothing more to think of?
So if it outputs 20A, it will not kill my beloved Meizu M6 SL player?
Can you just confirm this since I really love it and don't want to fry it. Any body else's opinions are also welcome!
And - when I find the converter, how do I connect the wires? What wire should connect to which pin on the USB-port?
Thanks! I really appriciate the help!

thats very risky, and i would personally just use a computer's usb port..., if you accidentally switch the wires your player will be fry'ed.

Yes it won't kill the M6, but it will be hard to find an affordable converter with 5 V and 20A (I know 12V and 20A for 60€ but I've never seen one with 5V/20A )

Perfect!
So first I need 5v (Ampere not important). Then, do you know how I should wire the cables? I have a USB cable but dont know what wire sold to.

No, I don't know which wire is for data/ground etc. in a usb cable. But I think you'll find the answer at wikipedia or google

I created a homemade charger for my M6. I used an old power supply. The pins are as follw (Hold the USB Cord so that the pins are on the top facing you thile the cord is on a flat surface):
Pin 1=Ground
Pin 2=Data Transfer
Pin 3=Data Transver
Pin 4=5 Volts.
Hope this helps.

If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first: http://www.meizume.com/miniplayer-m6...ed-player.html and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.
Players: Meizu Miniplayer M6 SP Dane-Elec $100 from Walgreens.com. iPod 4th Generation Monochrome White 20 GB, Free (Got it broken from school and fixed by tinkering with it). iPod Video 80GB Black. $75 bought broken from classmate for $50 and fixed screen for $25 (For a new screen, and iPod opening tools). Sandisk Sansa m240 2GB Black, $60 (A long time ago). Thompson TMS T-F10E 256MB Silver, $50 (Even longer ago).
Headphones: DX In-Ear headphones. $3.94 total from DX and free shipping. Targus ANC Headphones $1 from staples. Sometimes, Bose QC1 Headphones.

That's perfect, thanks! Did you use a (exactly) 5v power supply or like 4,7v? I have seen that many of my power supplies are 4,7v. But if exactly 5v is the best way to go, there is no question I'll buy one.
Are you also agreeing with the others about ampere not beeing important (as long as it is a minimum of 400mA)?
Regards

Why go through all this hassle? Why not pick up a wall wart that has a usb connector on it like this one?

That's not powerful enough. It can only provide 300mA. But to charge the M6 you'll need at least 400mA (a standard PC USB port will provide 500mA btw)

Wild. I own one of the wall warts I linked, and have used it quite a few times to charge my M6. It seems to work just fine.
However, you are correct, it is only rated at 300mA. I suppose it would charge faster if it were able to sustain a 400mA load.
