help please: dead player(sigh) and some info on skins please

hey

i've had this player for almost a year now. i fell in luv with it the first day i got it. i've updated it twice already. both times got the white screen thing but i cud handle that without DFU tools. sum minor issues but i've always been able to fix it.
i tryed to update to the latest firmware for my SP version. got a white screen so i thought everything was fine. but then wen i reset it it wudnt turn back on. it wont even give me the charging screen wen i plug in the usb. tryed everything from hard reset to formating.
i'm currently trying the hold down the power button for serveral minutes thing and for the first time using the DFU tools. no success so far but still trying. i never understood how the DFU tools wud recognise the player wen its off but hey thats wat i've read to try so i'm trying.
basically if anyone has any other ideas i'm open. i really luv this thing and dnt wanna loose it

i got it running again. used the DFU toold thing. now my thumb hurts but its working. wat dnt understand is that i thought it was supposed to format wen i updated it. but it didnt but it definately updated....o well give thanx eh. so the only thing i need help with is installing new skins.

O and the FAQ was very helpful and straight forward. but i had to do a lil magic of my own so that the computer wud recognise my dead player. lol

i think how it goes is that i can only use skins that match my firmware right. which of the skins here are for S 2 004.5? anyone kno

yo just search for skin 2.004.5 and u will find the skins for that firmware. or u can convert whichever u skin u like to ur desired firmware by using the resource editor and maybe firmware converter for (FW 2.003.2 or less).
