    Line Across Screen?

    Hi All!

I just picked up a SL. It seems that whatever background I use, including the original has what seems to be a one pixel horizontal line about 2/3 down the screen whenever there is no info displayed but the progress bar.
Anyone see anyhing similar or do I have a bum screen which would suck because a friend bought it for me in Shenzhen and I don't know when I'll be getting back there. Latest firmware was pre-installed.

    Thanks, Bob

I'd try a firmware update if I were you.

Done. Same problem. Also a 1 x about 8 pixel line drops from the top of the screen to line up with the rest. Weird. Thanks for the quick response though!

Might be a damaged screen I guess. It's only electronics it happens.

if it only appears when there is no info displayed, it is probably not the screen itself, maybe the controller chip of the screen is faulty?
if it is a big problem to you, and a firmware update/downgrade does not fix the problem i guess you do not have many options but to send it back...

Hmmm. That's an idea. Maybe a downgrade from 2004.5 might work.

If that doesn't work I've got to wait. China New Year is upon us and the whole country pretty much shuts down for about 3 weeks....

downgrading shouldn't work either. Sounds like you gotta return it.

Damn! I hope I don't have to return. As an audioholic I've rejected MP3 for years because of the loss of fidelity. I chose the Meizu because of it's ability to play back FLAC files which are lossless. I even plug the thing into my receiver to check out downloaded live shows in FLAC on my referance system before burning to disc.

Suck me in and then take it away! Jeeez....
