* SOLVED * Meizu M6 technical problem
Problem:
Blank screen after tryin to start a video file. the screen does give some kind of glow, like its on. no sounds or anything else from the player that gives any sign of life.
player also isn't recognized in windows when i connect it
Player:
Meizu M6 SP 8 gb
Firmware:
2004.5
Operating system:
Windows XP pro
Solving methods already tried:
-soft reset
-hard reset
-leave to charge, then try again
-DFU Tools (doesnt reconize the player holding m+power or any other way)
-Holding buttons longer than usual time
i hope i have clearified my problem well enough. if theres any extra information needed regarding the problem, please leave a message. Know how to solve? leave a message as well.
i specified the solving methods i already tried to avoid useless replies, i know how soft/hard resets work...
thanks in advance!

You could let the battery run empty and see what happens after recharging it.

Ok man....I had a similar problem. Here's what I had to do. (you might want to try this)
Alright, lets get started. First off, hold down the return key for a good 30 seconds. Than hold down M + Power! You should see the screen flicker. This will indicate that the player has some sort of working property, for the moment at least.
Now, because the screen flickered, the computer should recognize it while holding M + Power. After that, install all the necessary drivers from the DFU folder you installed so that the player is officially recognized by Windows.
Than, continue with DFU tool Image 1 and 2 downloads, I suggest using FW 1.00.1 or an early version similar to that as your FW for DFU tools.
Complete the DFU process and you should be in the clear.
Reminder: This only works because of holding down the enter key for a certain amount of time, so if you have to unplug the player during or after any of the steps, remember, hold down the enter key again for another 30 seconds or so before you hold down M+ Power and plug in the USB. Seriously, I can not stress that enough.
Good Luck!

no idea what i did but my player seems to be workin again... some strange player this is XD thanks for all the help!
tried to follow your instructions, got to M+power, screen didn't flicker nor gave it any sign of life. when i then held the enter button it suddenly shut off. None of these methods worked before, as told above i try them before.

Whatever the case may be, glad to hear its working again.
my instructions are more geared towards a seemingly "dead" player I guess, holding down the enter key is just to get the player warmed up for the M + Power button combo.
Because when I had a seemingly "dead" player, pressing the M + Power button combo without holding down the enter button for a certain amount of time resulted in the player not being recognized at all.
So, for anyone reading this who believes their player is dead, because DFU tools wont recognize it, try the enter key method like I did, might save you the hassle of getting a replacement

Actually, as far as I know, DFU tools is only needed when the wrong firmware was installed on the player. DFU tools is a samsung recovery tool, not a standard firmware installer in my oppinion, so it should be the last thing done to the player... But that's just how I see things, ignore me if you wish

M6 freezes when playing music
I have this M6 since a few weeks and I've had it freeze twice in just a few days. I'm listening to music and the M6 just freezes when I try to change song. Music just stops and all buttons stop working. Then after a few minutes, screen goes black and just nothing... then I try to press buttons and I hear the "click" sound (the same as when using paddle). It's strange. Who can help me ?

this sounds as if either your sound files are terribly wrong, or if your player has a serious problem. First of all I would suggest to try some self-made mp3s (so you know they ain't broken). If the same happens with them, I'd suggest a firmware update. If that still doesn't work, return to dealer.

no need to close. If you want to indicate that it is solved, edit your first post and add "(solved)" to the title.

Hi Speeder - Great Point to stress and if I may... I would even suggest not using DFU Tools unless the player cannot be recognized by the PC operating system. Take care and as always we do value your comments.
