    White Screen^^

    Hi Everyone.

My problem is that after adding the firmwire on my Meizu(from europe so no fm n limited sound) there was an indication telling me that it was being updating. And then...white screen...i press the enter button fore 10 sec and it tuned off. But then, when i put it on, the white screen came again so what can i do?thx

(sorry 4 the mistakes in Inglish)

TRY DISCONNECTING THE USB CABLE.switch of and then on again and it should start to update.

Unfortunately, it sounds like you used the wrong version of firmware. You need to use a program called DFU tools to put the right version onto your player and fix it. What version is your player, a TP version or SP version? It says what version it is on the metal case on the back of the m6, and probably on the box, too.
    --------------
Recover Your Player Using DFU Tools:

DFU Tools lets you recover your player if this suffered a problem and is not longer working. This should be the last option, so you have to try resets before using this tool. Here's a list of things you need to do to recover your player using DFU Tools:

    1. Install DFU Tools on your computer (only available for Windows).
    2. Copy the firmware files (M6.EBN and resource.bin) to the directory where the DFU Tool is installed.
    3. Press and hold Power button and M button, then connect to PC using the USB cable.
    4. Before that Windows New Hardware Wizard will appears, asking if you want to connect to Windows Update to check for drivers, click on “No, not this time”. Click on next.
    5. The next screen of the wizard asks if you want to install automatically or using a specific location (advanced). Select the advanced option, and then click next.
    6. Check the 'Include this location in the search' option and specify the directory where DFU Tools is installed, after that, click next.
    7. Let windows finish installing drivers. Once drivers are installed, you can use the DFU Tools.
    8. Run the application and then click Download. When this is complete click close.
    9. Disconnect your Miniplayer from PC and turn it on.
    10. Screen showed will be green now, so you have to install the firmware again. After that your player will work fine again.

If your player says SP on the back itsthe SP version. If it does not say SP on the back its the TP version.
Be sure to get the corresponding firmware! S for SP and T for TP

really? mine is a TP and doesn't have anything like TP or SP on the back. My SP does say SP on the back
Yours must be one of the newer batches of TP players?

Mine was one of the last ones from miniplayer.info. I got it less than a week before they changed the white TP's to SP's.

if the player is not responding to none of the hard/soft resets, then try dfu tools, you can find the tutorial in the FAQ section.

i recently revived my player from white screened, i just mapped the player to dfu tools, and bam the player started to function...i didnt even turn on dfu tools yet...

if you are white screened, i suggest you or you guys just calm down and relax, its pretty much revivable...

Isn't a white screen normal for a portion of the upgrade process?

As far as I can recall, it goes white for 20-30 seconds then turns itself off. After that, when you next turn it on it may require connecting back to pc and copying over the resource.bin once more (then on and off again).

It seems to me that people might be panicking when they see this white screen, leading them to turn it off at the very moment it's doing the upgrade. (With predictable results.)

If Error reads this, perhaps he could add the warning about the white screen to the FAQ, in bold/red text, so that people know exactly what to expect during an upgrade procedure. (not that anyone seems to read the faq, but mneh. Better than nothing.)

Are you sure the player is being detected as a DFU device by Windows. You can do this by connecting the player in DFU mode, right clicking on My Computer and selecting Manage, then Device Manager\USB Serial Bus controllers and see if there is an entyr for a DFU device.

Also remember that you need to keep the Power\Play & Menu buttons pressed throughout the entire process otherwise the player will drop out of DFU mode.

If you are using Windows Vista you may need to assign admin rights to the DFU Tool. The DFU tool will also not work if you are running a 64bit version of Windows.

On occasion I have also found that you may need to restart the DFU tool if you find it does not connect the first time.
