Meizu mini doesn't play m4p files

I downloaded music from iTunes, downloaded it to my player and couldn't find it. I finally found it in "browser," but could not get the tunes to play. The tunes have the title followed by ".m4p". The sample tunes have a .wma after them and they play. The booklet states it plays mp3 files, but what about m4p? Also, most of the tunes downloaded from iTunes have a padlock icon on them and state they're "protected." What does this mean?
Any help would be appreciated. I'm starting to regret not getting an iPod.

Does it say ANYWHERE that ANY Meizu product supports m4p files?

Okay Err0r, sounds like you're being a little hostile. I'm new to this and don't even know the difference between mp3 and m4p files. My son downloaded music to his iTunes player and the files were m4p files. We didn't ask for m4p, they just downloaded that way. I came here looking for suggestions to help with this problem, but I think I'll look elsewhere for help. Oh yeah, and let me doante right away to help the cause of MeizuMe, it's been so helpful to me thus far and so welcoming.

First of all: Make sure what the player is capable to play BEFORE you download protected music.

M4P is a file extension associated with Protected AAC files
Please note: AAC is a proprietary music format of Apple. They want you to only be able to listen to the music you bought at their store (iTunes) on their players (iPods).

I suggest you to buy music somewhere else without any DRM.

For the music you already own, you may find a program, which can convert m4p to mp3 files. As it is illegal (at least in Germany) I can't recommend a specific program, but I found a lot using google.

Another way (without any further programs) is to burn an Audio-CD of your m4p files and then rip this CD to mp3 files. This is very easy with Microsoft's Windows Media Player (make sure to select mp3 in the options dialog of the Rip tab --> there is a small arrow below the 'rip' and you can specify the format and bit rate. Then click on the rip tab and insert the CD) and I think it is also possible using iTunes.

Thanks Hendrik. I thought it might have had something to do with only using an iPod from iTunes. Thanks for the suggestions, that helps.

Thanks Meizu Miniplayer and Hendrik. I used the Media Player and was able to sync to the Meizu. I'll also look at Limewire and the converter. I learned alot today! Thanks all (except Err0r).

You come to a Meizu fan forum and say you'd rather buy an iPod because you didn't read the specifications of the Meizu. I pointed that out, how is that hostile?

You, on the other hand, have shown little to no respect with "Oh yeah, and let me doante right away to help the cause of MeizuMe, it's been so helpful to me thus far and so welcoming." and "Thanks all (except Err0r)." Where are your manners and what do you think you're doing?
