Is Meizu m6 reliable?

I have recently ordered my M6 SP (black 8g) and hope it will arrive soon. For the price I can't argue with the features of the product. However, I see constant threads on the technical forums about dead/freezing Meizus. Should I assume my M6 might work for 6m-1yr and will then just die? I hope this is not the case, and most people's M6's are reliable and work. I don't mind tinkering with my gadgets at all, but I do mind if they just die and can't be tinkered with anymore.

most of the problems (at least in this forum) are firmware problems that usually can be solved (with dfu-tools in worst case)

so hardwarewise it seems very reliable
i myself dropped it a couple of times and it still works fine

The player hardware is reliablel.
The firmware(software that is on your meizu) that meizu make is not very good.

Hah well that's nothing new to me. I use razer mice, and their mice are incredibly good, but their firmware I'd say has a 50/50 chance of either killing or making your mouse work. I do some coding myself and have a general knowledge of programming, but I have almost no experience with using proper codecs, compression, etc. etc. unless you count fraps.

Well thank you for your quick replies, can't wait to get mine!

I just got mine today and immediately did everything wrong xD.
At first I thought that I had the M6SL, because I ordered it at the chinese colleage of my father, so I tried to install the Firmware for the SL and that obviously didn't work.
Then I accidentally installed the TP Firmware and after some tries with the dfu tools I also fixed that problem!
So after 5 times of putting my music on the player, it finally works and was more or less all my fault. I'm very happy with the player .
