So I gave a 4 GB Meizu to my fiance and she hasn't been very excited to see that her music is totally unorganized. She got it from iTunes, where it is all very nicely organized, and loaded into her little mp3 player, and the songs have names, but the artists and albums, etc, are unknown.
I'm trying to fix it for her, of course, and I see people saying to use some separate utility to fix the id3 tags. Why would I need to? iTunes has id3 2.2 on all the songs in the library. Is that something that the Meizu can't handle? I thought perhaps that the firmware upgrades would solve the problem. The screen tells me that now the version is S 2.004.3. I'm not sure how to tell exactly which version I was supposed to upgrade to, but before upgrading the about screen had a version that begun with an S, so I figured staying with S was a good idea. I don't have the original box now, just the mp3 player and it's headphones and a mini-USB cable.
Am I missing something? I think I am because nobody else is complaining about the fact that their music is disorganized. I used the iTunes-organized music folders from my computer and copied them exactly into my Meizu music folder. I can see the music titles, just not the albums or artists. Help!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts2004.3 is latest, that's good. Meizu to my knowledge flawlessly supports ID3 2.2. If it shows unknown, then the tags must be the corrupt I believe, but you can quite simply get many software that write tags in a really simple way. You may search around on the forums for such programs.
I cannot help with iTunes, sorry.

You will have to move from iTunes, as this software only manages MP3 and some others formats... your Meizu player manage lots of formats not supported by iTunes OGG FLAC APE, to mention some.

I use Itunes for my meizu and I convert all of my id3 tages to v2.4, which the latest itunes will do for you. My Meizu reads all of this perfectly, even with cover art

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWow... I haven't been able to get mine to use id3v2.2... I had to convert mine to 2.3 (with latest firmware). I also haven't had much luck with cover art, and kind of gave up on the whole thing.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsIsn't it because Itunes has album artwork embedded in ID3 Tag for every song ? I've read somewhere that this causes the player to mess all the artist and album info.
not sure though might want to give it a try

I've wrote that here Solved the problem of alphabetical order within albums... and I confirm here that this is so.
I've tried with all size of cover art embedded and all of them spoils #track order within album. When cover art is present songs appears in alphabetical order within albums, do not confuse with unordered, such things don't exists.
