it's my first time to connect my miniplayer to my computer with usb cable hoping that my computer will pop a dialogue box saying "new hardware found" and start from there to install it., as that is usually how things work when something new is attached right? right. but it seems something is wrong. my miniplayer's been connected to the pc for about 30 minutes already and still there's nothing. my player displays connected to usb on its screen but my computer still cannot find anything new that's currently connected to it through a usb cable that would identify my player. my computer itself is sort of trying to connect it as it displays an effort., if the blinking red light on my computer is any indication., but still there's nothing. what do i do? did i do something wrong when i applied/ran the mini disk that came along with my player? please help. would appreciate anything. thanks guys.=) good day.
p.s.
can't really say that my problem is pictured here clearly with words., sorry about that., but i am in so need of your help guys. thanks again.=)

On your player go to Menu\Settings\USB Mode and make sure it is set to MSC.

Maby you can do the usb cable on a difrent usb port?,,
You payer has to be on...,, then do the usb cable in the player wait a few secs and then you can browse to it by right clicking the startbutton and then explore and then the good drive,, goodluck!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsalready have it in msc setting and i use windows xp. and yeah i do turn it on before connecting the cable. but then after that., my pc seem to slow down dramatically that it would take almost ten seconds before showing any response so i can't do much with the right clicking thing. so i just detach the cable again and my computer seem to respond fine., without being connected to the player., and so i do it over again hoping things would turn out right eventually., connecting and disconnecting the cable.
i've been reading some stuff here and i was just wondering if could it be that i need to download first some updated firmware or something before i could really proceed to anything? my computer seem to run very very slow as if it's really trying to connect to something whenever i connect my player with the usb cable but still after half an hour of being connected., there's still nothing. am really excited and frustrated at the same time right now. =( thank you guys. appreciate it all.=)

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts..things seem to be stuck or hanging whenever i connect my player., but i know for sure that it's not my port that has a problem as i use the same port when i connect my nokia cellphone and digital camera to my computer and everything is fine. am able to navigate things. so it's got to be the player right? grrr.. oh!! and when it's connected to my pc., and my player displays "connected to usb" i can see the battery is charging so it is really connected to my computer right? but why can't i see something? a message or something that would tell me how to proceed to install it to my computer? is it the k-lite codec thing that i agreed to install when i ran the miniplayer's minidisk? help.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsi did connect it directly to a built in but still nothing. after a few times of connecting and disconnecting my player to the pc with no success though., and restarted my computer after., an error message popped up saying something about HP CUE STATUS asking me to send or don't send report. so i uninstalled my HP deskjet f380 all-in-one for the mean time and repeated my trying to install my player., but still nothing. it just won't connect or atleast acknowledge a new hardware is being found.
is it possible that things aren't compatible as it should be with my computer? just can't seem to get through the synch process.. it just freezes up to there.Last edited by bajen_05; 12-05-2007 at 01:25 AM. Reason: add

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI can't recall any problems between the M6 and certain chip sets on the mainboard. Did you try another usb cable? Else I have no idea why it's not working.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsok. so i tried to to change my usb mode from msc to mtp. when i connected my player to my computer., didn't freeze up for awhile and them my computer said that it found a new hardware which is an mtp device. but then after trying to continue to install it with my wizard., it said there that it cannot start the hardware that there was a problem installing the mtp device. it specifically said that it was a "code 10" and i was given the option to click FINISH to be able to troubleshoot. when i clicked finish., the HELP & SUPPORT CENTER popped up. with everything stated there., i went to follow what it suggested. opened the device manager and all. then i find there that under my PORTABLE DEVICES., there was an mtp device icon but it has a yellow exclamation point thing over the icon. what does that mean? i'll have to uninstall it but what happens then? am i the only one having this problem? i feel so sad i cannot put music and stuff in my player. =(
